Trust, Pride and Camaraderie-transform your company into a "Great place to Work" The Great Place to Work Institute develops the annual ranking of the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For. In this book, the authors explore the model of a Great Place to Work For-one which fosters employee trust, pride in what they do, and enjoyment in the people they work with. They answer the fundamental question, "What is the business value of creating a great workplace?" and brings the definition of a Great Place to work alive with anecdotes, best practices, and quotes from employees working at the best workplaces in the U.S.
The book was goos. It gives many examples and even check lists to improve camarederie and other areas. It goes over how other companies build up on these areas too.
Drawing on years of research, Burchell and Robin shed light on how companies become great workplaces, and are then able to excel. The authors focus specifically on companies around the country that get high marks from their own employees--Microsoft, Google, Starbucks, Zappos, and others--and then identify the unique commonalities. Looking beyond mere perks, the authors delve into the values that these organizations share, and how they're incorporated into workplace interactions, to great effect. The findings are bolstered with plenty of tips and real-world examples.
Really enjoyed this book. It's a great complement to other books I have read with principles and ideas that will make a workplace a place where others want to work.
