This is my go to home-cooking American dessert cookbook. The recipes just work and they taste outstanding. The chocolate mayonnaise cake is my favorite chocolate cake. (Don’t worry the mayo subs for the oil and does a great job of it.)

A very decent dessert cookbook. Some of the types of cakes are renamed (not sure why, no explanation given) but they remain delicious. Covers mostly classic cakes and cookies, sauces, candies etc from earlier America.

I have used my wooden spoon cookbook for 30 yrs. I have made the cheesecake as a holiday favorite.

Typically, a five star recipe book for me is one that I can find a dozen recipes I want to try and most, if not all, come out as expected and tasting good. So far, I have not been disappointed. Should point out, however, for those watching their sugar intake, many of these desserts can be over sweet.

A fabulous cookbook, filled with old fashioned recipes for things people just don't make any more. I use it often.
