His wife, Heike, is also a writer and often works with her husband. She often comes up with the story ideas and therefore is generally credited as co-author. Their daughter, Rebecca, is also a writer.
Writing short stories since age 15, Hohlbein was first recognized as an author after sending in a manuscript he and his wife had written at a fantasy and science fiction writing contest in 1982. They won and their book, Märchenmond (English title: "Magic Moon"), was published by Ueberreuter Publishing, soon becoming a bestseller and winning several awards. It is one of their greatest successes till today.
Many of his more than 200 books are translated and published in many European countries as well as in South Korea. Yet for many years none of his works had been translated into English. In 2006, Magic Moon was translated into English and published in the United States.

No sé si es que los alemanes sean buenos para crear historias de fantasia o sea casualidad. Digo esto, porque, llegue a leer este libro porque en esta página lo recomendaban después de leer la Historia Interminable y realmente me gusto mucho. Sé que esta es la primera parte, pero me pareció realmente muy corto porque quería disfrutar más de este primer libro de los sucesos que ocurrían. Al final de leer el libro, sentí una gran ansiedad por leer los otros cuatro libros de la saga. Recomendado.

Préstamo de la biblioteca.
Un libro infantil bastante bonito para leer. Se intercalan dos historias, una en nuestro mundo y otra en Luna de cuentos. Rebeca es enviada por sus padres a un internado por un año mientras ellos están en un viaje de trabajo en Estados unidos. Ella es obligada a ir, por supuesto negándose rotundamente, desde el primer momento ella se topa con criaturas extrañas y con un chico que solo ella puede ver. En el otro mundo el mago más poderoso ha envejecido y ha sido exiliado como maestro de una escuela que está a punto de colapsar y él llegará a poner orden y encontrará resistencia por algunos alumnos que saben usar magia.
Un primer libro muy interesante que nos deja muchas dudas por responder, pudo ser un libro más extenso... seguiré con la saga

tuto knizku si pamatam stale, nahnevalo ma, ze pokracovanie neprelozili do slovenciny. velmi prijemna kniha, do teraz si pamatam koniec a hlavne taky asi prvy citatelsky sok z toho ako sa kniha skoncila - otvorene usta asi este tyzden...

Ein sehr schönes Buch, dass sich super für Kinder eignet, für mich war es der Einstieg in die Welt der Bücher.

Ich habe am Ende sehr stark geweint (damals war ich noch klein). Liebe Eltern, es lohnt sich dieses Buch mit euren Kindern zu lesen, aber macht euch auf ein Ende mit möglichen Tränen bereit.

Ich habe am Ende sehr stark geweint (damals war ich noch klein). Liebe Eltern, es lohnt sich dieses Buch mit euren Kindern zu lesen, aber macht euch auf ein Ende mit möglichen Tränen bereit.

Dios Mío
No esperaba ni una décima parte de lo que he encontrado en este libro.
Sin darme cuenta le he cogido cariño a los personajes, cosa que casi nunca me pasa con los libros infantiles.
Me lo leí en nada, unas horas y ya, y la verdad es que ha valido muchísimo la pena.
El final dio unos giros que no pensaba que iba a dar y me dejaron con la boca abierta y con el corazón a mil por hora.
Y eso que es un libro infantil *-*
Que bueno que tengo el resto de la saga, porque quiero más <3

Cute story, great parallel world building. I am excited to find out what happens next.

Odio que humanicen a los dragones y demás criaturas mágicas de ese estilo u_u No me gusta que vayan a clase o esas cosas, no me pega bien.
