After two hundred years as a werewolf, Dwyer is sure of one gay weres don't have mates. That bond is for male-female pairs alone. So when the scent of Nelson starts to drive Dwyer crazy, he's sure that the whisper of "mate" in his mind is just an unfortunate side effect cause by Halloween and the full moon. Besides, Nelson is all too human.

Nevertheless, Halloween night finds them taking a romantic stroll together. When an impulsive moment reveals Dwyer's true nature to Nelson, will their fledgling bond be snapped?

While Dogged Pursuit was an alright book, I had some problems with it. Mainly, the sex. In my opinion, there was just too much of it. They go out for dinner, they have sex, they talk a little, they have some more sex, Nelson finds out Dwyer's a werewolf, they have sex again. I did like the book it was just way too much sex. If the book was maybe a little longer, with more details into the MCs lives, then it would have been fine but, as it was, I started skipping over the sex scenes because I was just over it. :-( Thankfully, the book is short.

Another problem I had, though. While you get a glimpse of the characters getting to know each other, they don't really delve deep into what they have in common. It was more like a 'Hey, I like this and want to do this. What about you?' and that was it. Plus, I found it a little weird how easily Nelson took finding out his boyfriend is a wolf. I mean, yeah, people could be alright with it but they always freak out a tiny bit when they do find out but Nelson was just acting all calm and says he's freaked but never shows anything. *shrugs*

If you're looking for sex with a little bit of plot, you'll like this one.

Dwyer is a werewolf who drives for a car dealership delivering clients to their offices. Due to a recall he's very busy although he's getting antsy as the full moon and Halloween are drawing near. His last client Nelson really does it for him and he manages to arrange to pick him up after work and asks him out. They end up at a motel and agree to meet again on Friday. During that date, an elderly couple is attacked and to save them, Dwyer shifts in front of Nelson. Ooops. He then has to explain to Nelson that he's his mate. He says that if they mate properly under a full moon Nelson would become a wolf too. And what is Nelson's reaction? Well first he fucks his brains out then promptly says let's do it. Ack! He's the Britney Spears of the shifter set. Marrying the guy within days. This just moved too fast for me. Up until he basically said "let's mate tonight" I was enjoying it, but while even if he wasn't too freaked by him being a werewolf (and hey, I'd like to think I'd be open if I meet a werecat in Chicago in December - thank you for the pic Jordan), I'm not going mating under the trees that weekend. If it had been dragged out, him being more cautious, I would have enjoyed it more. But he was ready to quit his job, move to the country, find a pack, full on acceptance within hours. Too fast for me. I enjoyed the writing style though and would definitely try the author again.

This story was a nice read although for the length it felt a bit too sex-filled. Dwyer is a werewolf and when he finds his mate it's a surprise cause he's a human. Luckily for him Nelson quickly, way too quickly, accepts Dwyer and decides to become a shifter too. The story would have worked a bit better for me if it had been longer and Nelson hadn't totally rushed into his turning. I would imagine it would take a bit to adjust to the fact that werewolves exists, you're potentially mated to one and you can turn into one... all in a very short time. Nevertheless, it was an entertaining story.

It was an ok-read. Some things disturbed me a bit: the story was too short, there wasn't any character-development going on (just wasn't possible on those few pages), and for the shortness of the story there was way too much sex. It was wham-bang and insta-love. Which is sad, because I really liked the characters and if the story had more depth, it would be an awesome read.

The box is mostly sex where I found wondering what on earth do these guys have in common other then sex.... I tried to finish it but I had other romance books to read. I have a couple more to read by this author I hope they go better then this one.

Dwyer and Nelson were a nice couple. I'd have liked a little more depth to the characters, a little more angst for them to work through, but it just wasn't possible due to the shortness of the story. Still, werewolf sex - hot!
