I think of all the Sweet Pickle characters, Goose is most like me. I have a vicious procrastination streak in me and let me share that during Covid-19, it has almost become paralyzing. So, I relate to Goose and her putting things off and enjoying the day.

Goose puts everything off and it all just piles up. She gets in trouble as it's so extreme, but luckily, her friends are there to help her and give her some good advice. Procrastination is no joke. I would love to find a way to overcome my own. My work is opening back up, so I will have to do more and maybe that will help me some. I've got to function in the real world again. It's allowed me to read a lot of books, that's for sure. I've read 13 novels so far this month; that's huge for me.

The nephew thought Goose was a hoot. We have fun reading Sweet Pickles in our house still. The niece joined us for a bit of reading and she wrote a small summary on it for her book time. The nephew gave this 4 stars and the niece gave it 3 stars.

I do wish they would reprint these stories and sell them. They are so good and I don't want them being forgotten. They could put out a 2 volume collection of them. That would be awesome.

This is one of the stories I was read a lot as a kid and my mom absolutely loves this book. I didn’t really like it then, but it’s a nostalgic read.

Oh! The Sweet Pickles series is why I am such a reader today. My mother read these books to me until I was old enough to read them myself. I lost the collection in a fire in '91 (probably the most valued possession that I lost). My mom and I visited thrift stores, yard sales and such together to rebuild the set. She gave me the last of my set for my birthday two years ago!

I loved these books as a kid and now my kids love them too. If you can manage to get your hands on any of these, by all means... get them. Of all the books in this series that I've read, this one has always been my favorite, as the character reminded me so much of myself. Lazy... but still relatively good-natured.

Usually I look for books that have good solutions to go with the problems characters might have. This main character certainly has a problem (procrastination) but there is no solution or resolution. Like many of the Sweet Pickles books though, I think it'll be a great conversation starter with my students, and that's good too!

The Sweet Pickles books are all a bit odd, and are all endearing on some level, but some are better than others. This is one of the best. It's "message" is not at all heavy-handed, the story is fun and simple, and Goose is one of my all-time favorite literary characters.

Kind of disturbing - Goose seems to be suffering from clinical depression..still, an enjoyable book.

This is a book from my childhood that my mother was getting rid of; so I grabbed it and absorbed it into my own library. :D

Goose lets her life fall into ruin because of her procrastination.

Excellent children's book, kindle formatting meh

This book has been a family favorite since years before my birth with the weekly reader editions of the 60s. Goose just needs a day/ week/ life off from doing all the things. She'll do it tomorrow.
The kindle formatting of this book is not really formatting or child friendly. More for nostalgic adults. Just be aware, this does not meet the standards set by digital children's books formatted for children. This is more of a high definition pdf of the book with no zoom and no division of storyboards that were originally on joined pages but are clearly separate pages.

Greta often requests this one. She likes the list of all of the characters at the beginning and the map of the town at the end...we just need to find some more of these "Sweet Pickles" books on ebay or such.

PB29. I loved Sweet Pickles books as a child. My sisters and I had the entire set of 26 books and the Sweet Pickles bus, so when I ran across Goose Goofs Off at the daycare where I work, it brought back so many fun memories from my childhood. A great book to read on a lazy Saturday or Sunday.
