"You will find the jokes fast and funny, the situation becoming funnier as the play skips along." - New York Times
A classic from there era when Walter Matthau actually played a ladies man and bachelor- the humor is a bit dated and definitely sexist but it otherwise stands up pretty well as entertaining.
Well, this play certainly has it's pros and cons. I like the characters and plot. There is a lot of clever, quick dialogue. On the downside, it runs a little long. Lots of scenes could have been tidied up to help the pacing. Also the climax lacks a little punch, but I think that ties in with my previous point. It's basically spread out over three scenes and the by the time the payoff hits a lot of the wind has gone from its sails. Good, but flawed play.
