This book is two wonderful Inspiring suspense stories in one book and I enjoyed both of them.
Yuletide Sanctuary: Artist Lauren Curtis has lost her passion for painting after an attack five years before, but when she once again is attacked, Sean Matthew’s is in the right place at the right time, and saves her. But he has a past that he won’t talk about. Hoping to build her faith she needs to also trust this stranger, but should she?
Christmas Target: Police officer and crime lab investigator Maria Fuentes is beside herself when she finds out that her coworkers entered her into a contest with a very popular weatherman and she won. Now she has to spend a date weekend with him, and it happens to be someone from her past that she really didn’t want to spend a second with. But when she finds out that his life is being threatened, she knows she has to stick around and try to keep him safe. His faith hasn’t been where it should be for several years and they both need to put their faith in God and in each other if they will survive
I loved both of these stories, and I loved getting to know the characters and go with them through their journey of finding their faith once again

DNF'd after the first 'book'. God, it was awful.

There are books that include religious talk in a natural and unassuming way. I call those good Christian fiction. Then there are books, like this one, that take it and shove it down your throat so hard you want to gag. The God talk doesn't come off as natural. Even the internal dialogue of the characters sounds unlikely cause it's god this and god's will that.

The characters themselves are pretty flat. I understand that they didn't have a lot of pages to develop it, but help, develop something! The romance seemed a bit forced, the plot...why? Where is the logic behind the bad guy's actions? I don't know. I just REALLY didn't enjoy it. So I quit after the first one.

Sorry, not sorry.

She is a new author for me and I am liking the way she writes! Her characters are believable. Her story lines make sense. And I especially like the spiritual aspect of her characters' lives.
These are 2 short stories, so everything has to happen fast. I'm looking forward to reading one of her regular length books and seeing how she adds to her plots.
I think you'll enjoy these stories too!

These shorter stories were OK, but seemed cramped because each author only had about 100 pages to accomplisht he romance. These would have been better as full-length books.

Yuletide Sanctuary by Terri Reed was an enjoyable read. Terri Reed's books rarely disappoint me. This is the story of Lauren, an artist, and Sean, a youth counselor, who are recovering from traumas. Sean protects Lauren from a stalker. Good plot twists. 5 Stars

Christmas Target is the first book I've read by Stephanie Newton and it won't be the last. I thought the characters were believable but the romance part of the storyline seemed to go too fast. Ben has a stalker and Maria, his blind date just happens to be a CSI with a past with Ben. 4 stars

Even though I rated one story with 5 stars and one with 4, my overall rating is based on Terri Reed's Yuletide Sanctuary which I think is worth the price of the book.

Yuletide Sanctuary was so so. The story felt rushed and the characters hollow. The way how the trauma was dealt with was lacking. And I particularly didn't like how they dealt with the male leads side of things, It could have been expanded. Christmas Target was better but was still wonky. The characters were definitely more fleshed out but felt unbalanced. And the story was okay, though there were certain parts in which could have been better.

No spoiler here. I enjoyed both stories in book and applaud Terri Reed for tackling the subject of stalkers.
Stephanie Newton created a strong woman in Maria I pray all of us would have a little of her in us.
Thank you.

These two shorter stories were both OK, but they seemed cramped because each author only had about 100 pages to accomplish the romance. I think these would have been better as full-length 200 page books.

Picked this up in December thinking it would help me get the holiday spirit. Doesn't work quite the same in March. Hummmmmm.

Two longer stories in one book. The first didn't do much for me but the second was better.

The first story didn't capture me. The second one was better, but a bit rushed. Understandable, given the page restriction.

This is two short stories in one book. I am not a fan of short stories because they end way too soon for me. But it was a free book that I got from a family member so I read it anyway.
