I'm a Kansas native living now in the Pacific NW.
I've been a writer all my life and made a living at it (tech writing, PR and promotional writing) most of my adult life.
I've written novels, short stories, and poetry. I turned to mystery writing several years ago because I am mystified by serial killers. I've lived in two towns where they were operating and I have seen how they affect the way people live their lives.

I love books, movies, my family and my friends, my cats, and traveling when I get the chance.

The Rose Killer is my first published book. It surprised me by becoming a Kindle best seller. I just published my second book, Unravelled, which is also a thriller.

This was a "good read" and I enjoyed it. It's not particularly my genre so I was especially pleased to get caught up in it--I hoped that would happen! I thought the characters were believable, the pace very good and the plot well thought-out and executed. It's not often, lately, that a book hold my interest and keeps me going, much less up a bit late at night. But this one did a couple of times--and I congratulate Pat Gragg for getting me back into reading after a serious lapse on my part. I read this on my iPad, with the Kindle reader, and thought it a lovely way to read it.

This was a great story. It left me wanting to read more books by Pat Gragg, but this seems to be her first novel. It was well written and a real page turner. The widow of a cop becomes an amateur sleuth in search of a serial killer. The book had definite insights into grief because the main character, Valerie had lost her husband one year before. You could feel her pain and hopelessness. The relationship between the best friends Sunny and Valerie was also believable. This book would make a good movie. I look forward to reading future books by this author.

For 99 cents from Kindle. A real page turner. I could not put it down. It took me some time to figure out who the Rose Killer was. Interesting
characters. You cannot go wrong for the money. I recommend it for a real fast read.

Another cheap download. I am almost halfway into the book and just cannot finish it. I don't care about the main character, or any character, actually. And it just is poorly written.

I enjoyed this book a lot, even though I figured out the murdered, there were enough twists to make me question myself. Mostly the authors phraseology in spots. But, this town like all, has some real creeps and many, many secrets. I am not sure why I didn't rate it a 5 star unless I felt it was lacking a bit in the suspense department... I wasn't cringing. Still a very good read. Cannot believe I have had this book since 2011 and just now read it.

Ugh. I just couldn't get into this book. I love a good "psycho serial killer book". This was not a good "psycho serial killer" book. The characters ranged from generally dull to just ridiculous and I couldn't connect with any of them. I VERY rarely don't finish a book that I start, but this one almost had that distinction. Just when I had given myself permission to just quit (about half way), the dog went missing. I only finished it to find out what happened to the dog. Ultimately even that was unsatisfying. Not recommended.

I wish I could give 2 1/2 stars!
The story was a little wishy washy and moved slow for my liking. There was some questions for me as to the exact relationship between a few of the characters.
I was disappointed in the weak ending BUT overall it was entertaining enough to warrant finishing the book.

Another murder mystery, and I didn't figure out whodunit. The plot kept my attention, and, thank goodness, wasn't so gory that I would have nightmares. It was a bit more psychological in intent. Of the murder mysteries I've read this summer, this is among the better ones.

Is a good murder mystery. Keeps you guessing tell the end even though I don't feel like the reason behind the killers motives were ever fully explained. Would definately read another one by this author.

Valerie is a young widow in a small Kansas town. She has questions about her Police Officer husband, about the Rose Killer, what connects them, and does she want to know?

Suspense, thriller, mystery with just a little romance thrown in,

Didn't really get interesting until the last 1/4 of the book. Until then, it was slow going. It was a fun finish though.

This book, has sort of a really good plot, but i think it could have been a lot better. I would not read it again, although when i found out who the killer was, I was quite surprised! :)
