Synopsis: The sex sea god's son Triton is a bonafide Greek god with the power to calm the sea, teleport away women's clothing, and make every woman pant just by looking at him. He loses his "powers" early on because he can't keep himself out of every goddess, mistress, and mortal within range. Of course, upon arriving in America, he is able to grasp how to drive, speak/read English, understand what tile "seconds" are, and help with renovations despite having no experience with it at all! Wow! In between masturbation sessions, he cons the token independent yet overwhelmingly helpless woman Sophia into letting him live with her so he can focus his attentions solely on her. She too becomes amazingly horny whenever he is around, forcing me to read for an unholy number of pages just how hot they are for each other and the dirty, dirty things they do to each other. The climax (ha!) of the book was reading about how concerned this sex-mad god was about a single storm bearing down on the coast that would hurt people. A single storm, not even a hurricane or a tornado, and who cares about all the other ones that happen all over the world? Was I supposed to be concerned? In the end, they were so busy with each other than they almost forgot about it. I certainly did.

There was more nattering about how madly in love they were, but it was so implausible and the word choice so disgusting (this review was greatly edited to remove crass language in the same vein) that I only hung on so I could write this review.

I expected to enjoy this tale since I’m a big fan of Greek Mythology. The premise of A Touch of Greek was interesting enough. Triton sent to earth (stripped of his god status) as punishment for being an amoral philanderer. Then he meets Sophia, who was able to see gods and fairies and similar creatures when she was a child.

Without his god powers, Triton was merely human. This should be confusing to him. He had to learn all the easy daily things that Gods don’t do, but he knew everything. The only thing the author mention was his difficulty to drive a car. It was really a shame. But the entire book fails in this aspect. I didn’t see Triton's growth into emotional maturity or altruism.

Sophia was a wimp, silly, boring and uninteresting. The relation with her cousin was just an excuse to make her a victim. We never truly get why she’s able to see gods and nymphs or why that was considered mental illness. When you are a child you tend to believe in magic realism. When she meets Triton, I love it when Sophie states that she doesn’t want beautiful and arrogant men, that all the inner qualities are so much more important. But when she starts taking an interest in Triton, her first concern is if he is only interested in her because she 'blind and thus can’t see how ugly he is. Her depth is precious!

As a couple, well, they didn’t convinced me. I was unable to care about them. The sexy scenes were ok, but I wasn’t into them.

But there were other things. All the mystery around the accidents in the house was so obvious. How is that Sophie took so long to realize that the cousin was trying to kill? The stipulations of the will were mentioned early on in the story. As I said before, she is an idiot. And where did Francesca go?? What kind of convention was that? I can imagine being gone a few days, but she never came back. Why was she even a character in the story?

Finally, Triton was identified as the God protector of sailors and seamen. This is not correct. Triton was the messenger of the sea; the protector of sailors in Greek mythology was Palaemon. For me this is a huge mistake. How hard it is to make a little research before writing a novel?

This was not for me. And now that I know the Greek part is FALSE ADVERTISING, I am done with this series. If this series took place in Greece I'd probably like it better, but maybe not.

Triton was such a huge dick and a misogynistic asshole to boot. No thank you. Sophia would've been better off without him IMO. Honestly, I really hated how after she lost her eyesight everyone was constantly screwing her over and how she was depicted as "needing a man to take care of her". Ugh how about no.

I liked Sophia, but that was about it. Pretty much the rest of this annoyed me.

A Touch of Greek is the first book of "Out of Olympus" series. All present the lesser Gods (because Zeus, Poseidon and Hades is TOO MAINSTREAM), from Triton, Hermes, Dionysus and Eros. Touch of Greek is about Triton who is a womanizer punished by Zeus because his philandering way. He stripped of his God power, but Zeus said that if he can make a woman love him not because of his appearance but his kindness and selflessness, his power will come back. Sure, it's a easy thing for Triton, at least that what he first thought. But, Sophia Baker, a woman that he lust for didn't came easily to his charm and brushed his off. After a accident that left Sophia near blind and incapable to manage her home-turn-to-be-B&B, Triton decide to act as her caretaker, while hope he will regain his love. Of course, again, everything is not all easy as it seems.

Cute, light and sweet. Perfect if you want to read about Greece myth but don't want to bother to know about the name of the Gods and Goddesses. I really like Triton and his development, while Sophia is a little bit okay for me. Sophia herself is strong, but there's something amiss that make me can't feel her strength. With Triton, it's interesting to see how he grow up from a spoiled God to a mature and responsible man.

The story is simple, and there were 1 or two villain, but rest assure, no one who want to conquer the world! The writing also easily read and do not make you think so hard. Yep, perfect for comfort read! Surprisely, while Touch of Greek labeled as erotica, I think the sex scene just in steamy level, which mean no anything weird happen :P.

If you are in a mood for light and steamy story with a hint of Greek myth, I will recommend this one

Greek God, Triton, is cast out of Olympus after seducing Zeus’ mistress. Tired of Triton’s vain and selfish ways, Zeus punishes him by sending Triton to America to find a woman that will fall in love with him, not for his flawless good looks but for his kindliness and selflessness. Should be easy for a God, right?

Triton’s plan is to seduce a beautiful mortal and show his kindness by buying her a few drinks and pleasing her in bed. However, when Triton arrives in Charleston, South Carolina, the town Zeus has left him in without his godly powers or mortal necessities, the first woman Triton picks up on wants nothing to do with him and actually refers to Triton as a himbo. Determined to prove that he is more than just a pretty face and can be relied upon, Triton masquerades as a home healthcare worker when he learns that Sophia, the mortal that shot him down, had an accident and is now virtually blind. The job ends up being more than Triton bargained for when the B&B Sophia is desperately trying to open suffers one set back after another. As Triton helps Sophia reach her dream he finds himself attracted to her strength and determination, and surprisingly yearns for her love. But Zeus has added a twist to Triton’s punishment, unbeknownst to him, and there are others determined to see both Triton and Sophia fail.

The Out of Olympus series follows four Gods; Triton, Dionysus, Eros, and Hermes. A Touch of Greek, the first book in the series, follows Triton. A sexy God who is the son of Poseidon, Triton takes his godly duties series but when it comes to anything else he is a bit frivolous, until he seduces the wrong woman and is forced to grow up. I enjoyed seeing Triton’s growth throughout the story, he started out only thinking of himself but as he spent more time with Sophia he began thinking more of her needs instead. Their relationship had an instant spark but grew gradually into tangible connection. Sweet, funny and downright sexy the story kept me engaged start to finish. Sophia had a lot of strength and I liked how she stuck to her guns throughout the book. Triton’s friends; Dionysus, Eros, and Hermes, where interesting characters that added dimension to the tale and I can’t wait to read more about them. Even though this was a good size novel I wish Triton and Sophia’s story could have went on for a little bit longer, I was still craving more from them by the end.
I love Greek Mythology to begin with but Tina Folsom has added some definite charm to the mythos with these sexy characters, and even if you are unfamiliar with Greek Mythology the author provides a smooth story that readers will find easy to follow along with and become captivated by.

Another great read by this author and one I always look forward to picking up a book from!

I went into this book with little expectations. I ended up enjoying it but it's kinda like potato chips, they're not filling but still you enjoy them lol. The cast of Gods was awesome though, I really enjoyed that part. The writing wasn't amazing and the romance was very predictable. Not that I'm saying anything bad about the book because I did like it. I'd just go into when you're in the mood for a junk food book =)
I will read the next one sometime in the near future.

Im not a fan of writing detailed summary of books when doing a review so let's just skip the part. If you read the 'Scanguard Vampire', then you'll difinitely like this book less.

First of all, let me assure you that this is a fun read. There are some pretty hot scenes, hilarous too and the idea of hot-playboy-god-friends is totally *GRIN* ;)HAWT.

Unlike the 'Scanguard vampire' which by the way is a flaming ball of hotness, this was pretty decent. Not the best but still has that touch that makes you wish you have your own god.

I liked how the hero kept thinking about the girl and haven't had sex for 4 months just beacause he can't get he's body and mind to forget about the heroine.

Anyway, the ending was so cliched. I mean Zues and Posiedon showing up and the hero (sorry! not that good with names!) get's all 'i dont want my power, i want her' and 'i get jealous when your around her so sod off' and zeus was like 'oh your so jealous. you must really love her'
and im like 'seriously? is this like reading an overly cliched love story in wattpad all over again?

made the me think that that the author is trying really hard to make the reader's believe it's all true love (am not saying she hadn't already convinced me since the hero got all smug and heartbroken when he left the girl and went back to olympus). Anyway over all, if youre looking for light, fun and sexy read without straying into the 'really really dark erotic world where things starts getting weirder and weirder (*caugh* j.r ward) this is for you.

Light and entertaining

A Touch of Greek was a rather entertaining read told from several POVs. Several gods were introduced, though Triton - son of Poseidon- is our MC. Banished to Earth after philandering too much, he has to make some woman fall in love with him and not his looks. Sophia, a mortal and fiercely independent but vulnerable after an accident, is left "temporarily" blind and in need of assistance to get her B&B up and running. Sounds like a match yes? Demigod makes a blind women fall for him.

The story was very cheesy in the romance department and steamy when it needed to be. The guys were all shallow, though Triton grew a bit - he still remained self absorbed for a bit when wanting his powers back. Sophia was a likeable and relatable character. I guess you would feel more self conscious and less confident if you were robbed of your sight so suddenly. There are some funny moments and the predictable HEA ending.
Overall, it was a light and entertaining read with some OTT drama to keep the story going.

Achtung SPOILER!

Was ergibt das?
Was ihn natürlich plötzlich richtig nervt.
Vielleicht Wundersperma.
Tja. Das war wohl nix.

So might I, standing on this pleasant lea, Have glimpses that would make me less forlorn; Have sight of Proteus rising from the sea; Or hear old Triton blow his wreathe'd horn - William Wordsworth

Zeus' judgment is harsh. Triton, Poseidon's son, is stripped of his powers for seducing Zeus' mistress. cast down to the mortal world, Triton can only regain his godly status by finding a woman who will love him for his kindness and selflessness and not his physical attributes. he finds Sophia who is virtually blind and in need of a stay-in healthcare worker. he assumes the role and takes care of her. with the assistance of his friends Hermes, Cupid and the faithful Dionysus, Triton hopes that Sophia might just be the woman who will hand him the key back to Olympus.
the author presents a world of demigods, gods and goddesses whose behavior and pursuits are no different from us mortals. her novel speaks of friendship, intrigue, betrayal and true love. there is humor too in all the right places.
i admire Sophia for her strength in dealing with her handicap. at times, her good heart gets in the way of overlooking the injustices heaped upon her by her cousin Michael but her conscience embraces reason and she emerges a more confident person. Triton, on the other hand, evolves from being self centered to being compassionate, giving and respectful of women.
i admit that i am a sucker for vampire stories (no pun intended) but author Tina Folsom's latest contribution to the paranormal realm is a welcome respite.
Edith Hamilton introduced me to Mythology and Tina Folsom has once again rekindled my love for it in A Touch of Greek. it is the first book in the Out of Olympus series and is a delightful refreshing romantic story of what happens when gods and mortals meet and fall in love. reading it and staying up late till four o'clock in the morning was worth every second. this book comes highly recommended and i definitely look forward to the next ones in the series.

A Fresh, Funny Twist of Myth and Romance

No one ever accused the Greek pantheon of being full of humble, selfless dieties... but Triton is certainly one of the worst in this regard. Seducing women, be they free for his favors or the wives of other Gods, and stroking his own ego through it is his favorite pastime. But getting busy with the wrong God's mistress will land him in some hot water he's not likely to get out of. Through the machinations of his fellow Gods, Triton finds himself stripped of his powers and banished to Earth until he can get a mortal woman to fall in love with him for his selflessness and not his good looks. Easier said than done since he's ridiculously handsome.

When a failed attempt to woo Sophia leaves him with something to prove he sets out to win her only to discover an accident has left her nearly blind. With her greedy cousin attempting to weasel his way at the family fortune she's trying to use wisely in opening a bed and breakfast and no sight to work with what she needs is a home healthcare worker. Using this as his chance to get in her good graces Triton sets out to win her heart but Sophia's heart isn't the only one softening.

I hate comparing self published works with those who've gone the traditional route but when they're good you can't help but want to praise them for it. Folsom has done a brilliant job with this first entry in her Out of Olympus series. I love mythologies getting fresh fictional treatment and A TOUCH OF GREEK is a really fun one. Nice little bits of humor and highly steamy love scenes are sure to win fans. Personally, I found Triton really unlikable even after his 'transformation' from egomaniac to nice guy.

While it's a light paranormal romance and not unenjoyable I do have to point out that there were a few things I found lacked an organic feel. I don't want to share spoilers but one thing in particular had me going 'seriously?!?' and wondering if I was the only reader who had to reread the page multiple times to see if I missed something. I tend to get that when it feels like the author forced the conflict resolution instead of letting it happen in a more natural (and potentionally drawn-out) fashion. It wasn't a book killer, it just bothered me as a reader.

Overall, I think A TOUCH OF GREEK was funny, fresh and ultimately a really enjoyable romance in spite of it's flaws. Folsom's writing is terrific and I'm excited to dive into the other titles of hers I've picked up. If you're in the mood for some fun within the Greek pantheon and a light romance this is an excellent choice!

3.5*s
I enjoyed this book a lot; with its blend of Greek mythology, romance & mystery it was always going to be a winner for me. We first meet Sophia when she is 5 years old and she nearly drowns but is saved by a ‘mermaid man’ who told her his name was Poseidon and if she didn’t tell anyone about him, he would let her play with his ‘naughty son’ – Sophia unfortunately told her aunt so she never saw him again. Fast forward 20+ years and Sophia is all grown and has took on the monumental task of turning her Aunts legacy into a B & B much to the chagrin of her scamming cousin Michael.
Whilst on Olympus there is a decree by Zeus that Triton be stripped of his powers and only when he finds a woman to love him for his altruism and not his true promiscuous ways will he be allowed to rejoin his kin.
Triton soon meets Sophia on earth and thinks his return is in the bag but he doesn’t know Sophia or her past but Sophia knows full well what men like Triton are and she wants none of it.
As Triton tries and tries to get his powers back he can think of no one else but the only one to ever turn him down – Sophia – and when he hears she has had an accident, leaving her virtually blind and in need of care; he comes up with a plan to get closer to her and get his powers back once and for all. What he didn’t plan on was interference, and there will plenty of that. . . .
As I said, I enjoyed this book a lot – Greek mythology always pulls me in especially when there’s romance and a little bit of foul play. The characters are great and I liked their personalities, I also liked all of the side characters particularly Triton’s sidekicks. It’s described as being erotica but to be honest it’s quite tame so I wouldn’t label it that way although there are a few HOT moments I would just say it was and adult book. It was well written, both characters and storyline and I was kept interested throughout not only by the romance aspect but by the back story and the threat that escalates towards the end of the book that added the danger and mystery to the situation. It made me happy at the end to see that it will be a series and that Tritons friends will be getting their own books starting with Dionysus which has gone straight onto my TBR list. Great start to a new series though.

A Touch of Greek by Tina Folsom is book 1 in the Out of Olympus series.

Triton has himself in serious trouble this time. His bad boy behavior has landed him in the hot seat with Zeus himself. Although, what do you expect when Zeus catches you literally with your pants down enjoying his mistress? Zeus’ punishment is severe. Zeus takes away Triton’s godly powers and is banished to America where he must find a woman to fall in love with him for his kindness and selflessness and not his pretty face. Triton is not confident that he possesses those things, until one women inspires something inside him. Sophia is beautiful, strong, and full of love. Can she save him and return his powers?

When I was in Elementary School I used to stay awake for hours reading Greek mythology by flashlight under the covers. Do not mistake A Touch of Greek as the traditional stories I used to read. Tina Folsom’s take on Triton and the Greek gods was creative and sexy. Triton starts out as the playboy of the gods and ends up morphing into one dreamy hunk any women in her right mind would want. A Touch of Greek was a humorous and steamy story that I had a hard time putting down. The gods were all yummy and Sophia was independent and strong. I enjoyed the witty way humor was added into the internal dialog. This book was all around hot, funny, and entertaining. I would recommend this book, especially if you are in the mood for a light-hearted steamy love story.

The sexual content in this book was definitely on the high-end as indicated by the large usage of the words “hot” and “steamy” in the above review. =)

I give A Touch of Greek by Tina Folsom 4 out of 5 Bullets!!

Sophia Baker as a child has a chance meeting with the Greek God Poseidon where he gets her promise to help his son Triton out when she's older. Sophia's Aunt Eleni does believe Sophia say a merman rescued her from the water. Sophia forgets about the merman but feels like she's losing her mind. Years later, Sophia is trying to renovate her Aunt Eleni's home into a B & B since her aunt left her the house in her will which cut out her cousin Michael. Triton is caught in Zeus's current mistress's bed and is being punished in front of all the Gods and Goddess. Zeus's punishment is for Triton to find a woman who loves him not for his looks but for his kindness and selflessness. Triton thinks this will be easy but Zeus has one other requirement Triton is to be stripped of his godlike powers. Triton meets Sophia at a bar but she sees him as nothing but shallow. Triton can't get his mind off Sophia when he discovers that she's virtually blind he jumps at a chance to help her during her time of need. Triton helps Sophia out in more ways than one with Michael and her contractor Charlie. Sophia is grateful for the help but can't stop her feelings of desire for Triton. She finds herself falling for Triton. Strange accidents are occurring thorough out the house. What is causing these accidents? Can Sophia love Triton? Will Triton learn to love Sophia? Your answers await you in A Touch of Greek.

I first found Tina Folsom's talent for writing through her Scanguards series. Amazing! She does not hesitate to put what she wants out there on her pages. It is what it is an that's that! Oh and then there's the fact that her male characters are some of the hottest most desirable out there. Love that about her writing :)

Sophia inherited her aunts house and decides to turn it into a Bed and Breakfast. Her cousin Michael refuses to accept the fact that it was left to her and not him and continually harasses her on that point. Sophia is determined to get the Bed and Breakfast up and running within a certain amount of time and is not going to allow her cousin or anyone else get in her way.

Triton, son of Poseidon has a lesson to learn according to Zeus (and others). That lesson is to cease his selfish ways. Zeus gave Triton two choices of punishment and the arrogant fool was daydreaming while they were stated. Triton turns discreetly to his friends to see which option he should choose. Once decided he finds out he is to be stripped of his powers, sent to America and he must find a woman to fall in love with him. A very tall list there for Triton!

Sophia and Triton learn a lot from one another and go through even more on their journey. There is no denying the attraction and chemistry between them. And you cannot stop what is meant to be. Ever!

These days, I have been starting new authors and new series without too much hope that I will be impressed. So when I find one that does impress me, I seem to read all the books they have very quickly!

Triton is the son of Poseidon and a god in his own right. He is a bit of a playboy. Well, a lot more than a bit! He is a major playboy and he doesn't take much seriously. He is known for seducing women that belong to others. He makes a major mistake when he is caught in bed with Zeus's latest mistress. For this, he is punished by Zeus. He must live in the mortal world - without his powers - and get a woman to fall in love with him. But he can't depend on his looks. The woman must love him for his kindness and compassion. Unfortunately, those are things that Triton doesn't have too much experience with. He rarely cares about anything but himself and his one night stands never see him as kind - in fact, they never see him again. So for Triton, this is a serious punishment and he can't return to Olympus until he accomplishes his goal.

You have a sweet innocent girl who has been used by pretty me in the past. She meets a lusty, hot, gorgeous man and turns him away for his beauty. Well, The lusty, hot gorgeous man happens to be a very lusty Greek God, Triton who was sent to earth to find somebody to love him. You can imagine how this turn down affected him, it drove him to seduce her. Well that's just the beginning. There are the other god's who don't want him to succeed, the terrible cousin who wants her estate, the conniving contractor and the greedy banker, and her accident. All paths lead to difficulties.
it was an enjoyable read. Light, cheesy and kind of predictable but still entertaining. A good beach, pool side read.

I got this book for two reasons: the audio was on sale and it was narrated by Eric Dove, which I really like. The plot was a bit out there and it didn't end up as being as sexy as I hoped but it wasn't a complete waste of time.

The situations were a bit crazy over the top, like when Sophia asked Triton to help her dress a few minutes into knowing him. The whole plot with the cousin and the B&B were just fillers and didn't feel real. I think the book was supposed to be funny but I didn't laugh one bit.

I doubt I'll read the next one in the series but Eric Dove was really good as the narrator.

This was a fun little read. I really liked how it incorporated Greek Mythology and literally brought them to life. I always love a good love story with a magical/ fantastical twist to it. Though the plot was typical, the characters gave the story a fresh take and made it enjoyable to read every step of the way. I thought it was comical how incredibly enamored Sophia and Triton were with each other and how they both desperately tried to resist ravishing each other. It was a good read, definitely looking forward to the second book (:

This was such a fun story to read. I love anything to do with Gods and Goddesses. Tritin and Sophia were so great together. Tritin came a long way and it was nice to see him grow from selfish and arrogant to selfless and giving. I loved all the scenes when Tritin and his friend (Eros and Hermes)were together. They cracked me up. There is another book to this and I need to find it soon.

I fell in love with this book from the moment I started it. I have always been drawn to Greek Mythology, so I knew I had to read it. The way that Tina pulls you into the story was incredible, and I loved her take on the characters. I definitely recommend this book, I know you will love it as much as I did. :)

cute premise to this story. I think the author did a great job of portraying the Greek Gods as more human than not, i.e., not above petty infighting, jealousy, etc.

If you're looking for something fun try it - though it does deal primarily with the lesser deities, not the more well-known.
