Between 3.5 and 4 stars..
This is really my first manga I read all the way through and it is definitely written for younger audiences, but I did enjoy it as a lovely alternative to the usual heavy heart pounding mysteries and thrillers I usually gravitate towards. Lighthearted and funny, cute and charming, the Strawberry Marshmallow series is one I think I'd enjoy as a little light reading; a bit of sunshine and relief from everyday life, in the innocence and mischief of young preteen life. I rate it enjoyable.

Daripada volume sebelumnya, volume kali ini menurutku ceritanya lebih seru. Selain itu meski cuma sekilas, akhirnya ada tokoh cowo yang ditampilin di volume ini. Seperti biasa si Miu bocah sangklek ngeselin, bikin sepanjang cerita ngakak terus.
Chapter yang nggak terlupakan di volume ini pas Kak Nobue dapet kado natal, sama ngajarin bocah-bocah darimana datangnya anak.

Summary: Created by Barasui, this comedy/slice of life manga follows Nobue and her younger sister Chika, Miu, Matsuri and Ana through their everyday lives. What separates Strawberry Marshmallow from other slice of life comedies like Azumanga Daioh or Lucky Star is that the 16-year-old Nobue drinks and smokes, and acts like an irresponsible adult. In many ways, she fills the adult role that teachers and parents usually fill in these types of series. In other words, she is dysfunctional and the younger characters (everyone else is 11-12) seem more mature at times.
Of course, the group also has it's requisite moe characters in the form of Matsuri and Ana. In one chapter, Nobue forces Matsuri to wear a cat hat and tail, and say "meow" after everything, including when trying to purchase a new hat from a salesperson. Ana (who isn't introduced until volume 2) is from England, but has lived in Japan for five years and has forgotten how to speak proper English. Nonetheless, she decides that she is only going to speak in English and pretend not to understand Japanese, which inevitably leads to hilarity.
In contrast, Chika is portrayed as being the most responsible girl in the group (including Nobue), and is usually the voice of reason and an excellent cook. Miu on the other hand is the "problem child" of the group, says weird things out of the blue, and tries to play pranks on Matsuri and Ana.
I really enjoy slice of life manga and anime, and so it's no surprise I like Strawberry Marshmallow. I've read the first two volumes so far, and 3-4 are on the nightstand. If you enjoy this style, this one is definitely up your alley, but if you have a cuteness allergy, you should probably stay away!

Funny and cute.
But the older sister (16yo) smokes. Even though the younger sister says once or twice to the older one that its bad for you, this might still be a problem if you let kids read it. But other then that its fine. They at least show how the older sister never has any money because of it.
Some of the jokes are occasionally slightly suggestive but never vulgar. Pretty much how real little girls might joke about such things. But if your the type who cant take even the slightest suggestive humor when it comes to children then this might not be for you.
Overall I recommend it for fans of Kawaii (cute) things. Because it is very Kawaii.

Dans ce tome, les petites fraises rencontrent une jeune anglaise qui vit au Japon depuis un an et qui souhaite cacher le fait qu'elle parle bien le japonais, seulement elle oublie l'anglais ... toujours aussi mignon comme histoire.

Ana's addition to the story is seamless, as well as explanatory in terms of how the girls make friends. If this is how Ana joined the group, it's not difficult to imagine how Miu could have. Or Matsuri, for that matter.
