The minotaur lord Attat poisoned him, and withholds the antidote until she captures the deadly sea monster Morkoth for his private zoo. Attat sends along renegade minotaur Bas Ohn-Koraf and shadowperson warrior Ilyatha to fight pirates, Blood Sea imps, kuo-toa, and a skeptical crew.

A very fun book! Although the cover says Tina Daniell wrote it, the inside says Jean Rabe with Tina Daniell. I enjoyed it: a fun sea-faring race against time with Maquesta and crew trying to capture a vicious sea creature in order to save her captive father. I found it a little predictable and thought they were too many various creatures, but that’s probably just my taste. The writing was good for this type of adventure. Two things, Berem’s name is mentioned once, and the minotaur have hooves!
