I somehow never logged this one--but it was my absolute favorite as a child. The red and blue stickers on Rosie's ballet shoes (to teach her left and right) were an image that stayed with me through my earliest years in ballet. It shows children what to expect in class and goes over some basic positions. Highly recommended for the budding ballet dancer in your life.

This book depicts a ballet class for young children. The illustrations are very realistic, and the story would be great for young children who want to take ballet or who have just begun classes.

Sweet story of Rosie's first ballet class. Simple terms that little ones can try too.

Rosie's Ballet Slippers is a really cute book that I would recommend to any student who enjoys dancing. I was a dancer and I personally loved that I could relate to the vocabulary in the book as well as the moves they were doing. When I was younger I wanted to be placed in a ballet class more than anything and I didn't actually get involved until high school so it made me happy to see such a young child have such an enjoyment from the one class she took. The illustrations are really well drawn out, they almost look like real pictures. Such a great book!

Nice children's ballet book. Most interesting however is that the class is clearly multiethnic including children who are apparently either children of mixed-race marriages or adopted. I am looking for books which include such families -- as normal, without race or adoption as part of the story line. This is a good example.
