What this book is not- a book of knitting patterns. Be advised, you will not get so much as a single stitch to try in this book. What this book is- a gorgeous book of historical knitwear, with pictures, essays, and tons of information on knitting from the Victorian era to the 1990's and early 2000s. This is pure historical inspiration, and I spent many happy hours caught up in the beauty of historical knitwear!
Nice pictures inspiring and so interesting to see history of knitwear, shapes, styles laid out across different eras (Coffee book style inspo, library book)

I foolishly bought this book thinking there would be patterns in this, but there aren't! That doesn't take away from how really great this book is, amazing photos of beautifully knit pieces, and some history to back it all up. I found the text to be a little dry, but I really did enjoy everything about it. A great edition to your fashion history collection!
