As Grandparents Day nears, Arnie worries about being the only kid in school who won't be bringing in a grandparent to celebrate the day, yet with the help of some of his older friends, such as Coach Ed and Ms. Childs, he is able to come up with the perfect solution to his dilemma.
A little boy realizes there are so many adults in his life that care about him, even if he doesn't have grandparents who can come to grandparents' day.
A great example of how it takes a village. Arnie's Grandparents are gone for Grandparents day. As he tells the community about this, they gather together to all fill in as his grandparents.
An excellent vehicle to suggest becoming Grandparents by proxy, and a brilliant idea for children to see they can ask significant adults to fill a social role.
