This book has a lot of information that new homeschoolers might not have thought of yet. It was published in 2010 so I suspect some of the content is a little outdated, and it was definitely written for an American audience. A lot of their advice and guidance would not be relevant in Canada, where I live, but overall it provides some good information.
In all honesty, I would not buy this book but instead look online for answers relevant to your specific area (I borrowed this from the library).
Halfway through the style of the book became annoying to me. First there's the question, followed by a quote, followed by the author's gleaned insight, and finished off with internet resources. I began skipping the quotes and only reading the questions that I was interested in. Overall it has helpful information and it was easy to go back through the book and find the internet sources. This book seems like a good place to start when first contemplating homeschooling and wanting to know more.
Excellent resource book for questions that a "newbie" could be wondering about. Because so much has changed recently with homeschooling, the book is a bit outdated (published in 2010) but still a must-read for anyone considering homeschooling of any kind. Explores different styles of homeschooling too, from online public to unschooling. I really liked that aspect.
The best part of this book was the jokes. I'm still chuckling over a few of them. The rest of the book was too watered down/general to hold my interest.
