Hospital to a young child can be a very frightening place and books like this one really help calm a child. All young children seem to love Miffy and I must admit I do too. Recommended.

Really didn't enjoy the line breaks here, and it felt like Bruna didn't have any flow until the last page. But I'm sure this would be a good book to read before going to the hospital for maybe the first time, or one that you'd be conscious of. But honestly I think if I were to go on a drive with my kid and pick out a plushie and just talk with them, they'd feel better about things than in here. Although Miffy is adorable, I know Bruna could've done numbers here, and didn't.

Something must be lost in translation here, or it’s just that it’s a board book that’s intended for a much younger audience. Cute concept, but my 7 and 10 year old were startled that a sore throat landed Miffy in the hospital. (And this is in a Covid world!) I think that the book is trying to say that it’s ok to go to the hospital, but my kids had bigger questions.

Kan heel hard helpen voor kleintjes die een ingreep in het ziekenhuis moeten ondergaan, om hen voor te bereiden op deze rare context waar ze zich misschien niet veel bij kunnen voorstellen. Herkenbaar, luchtig, en positief ingesteld.
