The Anecdotes!

I love it! I don't know how old Lewis is, but I picture him growing up around the depression, or just after, with some of these recipes. The anecdotes are so cute! I loved reading about Jersey the Holstein cow, and the sack lunches.
I also figure our author has a sweet tooth. There are more recipes in desserts than any other section (sounds like my husband, really). Some of these recipes seem questionable, but I think I'll give a couple a go to see what it tastes like. Other recipes are spot on and look delicious based on the list of ingredients.

Don't expect any pictures. It's very old-timey in style, which gives it its classic charm. I caught it on sale for free, but it would be worth buying.
