I read these books 2 years ago to my son.Now he can easily read them. Today he read this to his younger sister and I so they could both get their check marks in our family reading challenge. they love reading about the heroes they watch. It is great watching them grow in confidence and seeing him read to his little sister.

My husband didn't think that my nephew would care much for this Wonder Woman book. He told me that boys typically don't identify much with female superheroes. After talking to my friend Deirdre, however, I decided to give this one a shot. This wasn't the first superhero book that my nephew chose for me to read to him, but it wasn't the last either. Honestly, I really didn't notice that he was any less interested in Wonder Woman than any other superhero. He was just as interested in her backstory as he was in Spiderman's, and he fully accepted her as being equal in strength and capability to Batman, Superman, or Spiderman. At one point I remarked, "Wow. Wonder Woman is pretty strong, isn't she?" My nephew replied, "Well, superheroes are strong, Amy." There was nothing impressive to him that she was strong "for a girl," she was just... strong.

I don't imagine that this will be his favorite superhero book, but I think that's more to do with the plot of this one than because of the fact that Wonder Woman is a female. This book introduced us to Wonder Woman, and told us all about how she became a superhero. The story and pictures presented here weren't as dramatic as those in some of my nephew's other superhero books, and I think that excitement in the stories and action in the pictures is really what holds his interest. He did like this book just fine, though, and I sure would like to see more stories where Wonder Woman is featured.

I'm a huge Wonder Woman fan. So, if we find a WW anything while thrifting, of course we're going to buy it. And that's exactly what happened here.

Wonder Woman's heroic rise from Amazon princess to well-known superhero is well captured in this very cool story.

I loved the bright artwork. The story might be familiar, but I always enjoy the hell out of a Diana Prince tale. It's a short, simple and fun introduction to one of the best superheroes ever.

I'll definitely be adding this to my Wonder Woman shrine. I mean, shelf. 😉

Reading level 2. My son liked it. We don't read a lot about girl superheros so its a nice change. Great story too.

Not a bad book, but I downgraded it due to what I perceived to be a discrepancy. Diana Prince gets an alert on two situations, one a bridge that may collapse as a train goes over it and the other a robbery taking place at a museum. However she is only shown dealing with the bridge. The robbery seems to be forgotten about as it isn't even mentioned again. Aside from that this one was enjoyable. It is meant for younger readers but is a good introduction to who Wonder Woman is. This is a perfect book to read to a young child, or for children who are just learning to read to read themselves. Worth having for those reasons. Happy reading.

Who doesn't love "Wonder Woman?" She is kick-butt! An awesome crime fighter and the daughter of a queen! She destroys all the false theories that a woman cannot do what a man can do! She slays the gender biases and helps to create an equal space for all boys and girls. Everyone can defeat evil, no matter what gender you might be!

My Grandson picked this out for me at a book sale, he knows I am a Wonder Woman fan. It is a good Children's book. Keeps the story simple and it is the original story line and not the lasted Movie story line. I like both story lines but original needs to be keep alive. The illustrations are cartoon, loved that, keeps with the comic book feel.

Super Origin Story!

Hailing to the authentic beginning of Wonder Woman, the tale of heroine Diana is told in a fun way with nuances I hadn't known before. Excellent artwork is sure to draw in readers of all ages, full of action, adventure, and did enjoy the ending. Great way to encourage children to strengthen their vocabulary in an enjoyable way.

Great introduction to Wonder Woman (WW) for small children. Follows her original origin story closely; explains how Princess Diana of Themyscira became WW. A character that I think is very child friendly, WW is one of the noblest SH there is, and she always tries to solve problems at the 'lowest level' of force she needs to use (amazing when you consider how powerful she is).

Good book for going kids

I work with kids with special needs and although they were not a fan of her being a girl, they thought it was ok. I personally liked reading it to them though.

What a great way to introduce your little one to The Fabulous Wonder Woman! Bold and bright graphics. There's even a couple of cameos from our favorite superheroes.

This was my daughter's first library book from her new kindergarten. Not sure she really recognized the character, though she saw some promotional stuff about her when the movie came out and it's been a popular Halloween costume this year. The book itself is very simple, with very brief descriptions to tell the story. Typical of many books in the I Can Read lineup. Good for small children, not so exciting for adults. Still fun to see her excited for library days.

This is a cool presentation of the Princess. The greatest part about reading it aloud is that you can do the Linda Carter t.v. show battlecry "WONDER WOMAAAAAAAN" every time WW is mentioned in the story. Kids won't know why the heck you are doing it but it goes well with the telling of the tale, I think. At the end of the book they throw Batman and Supes in there. Kind of unnecessary. If you're going to do that, throw in a couple of D.C. heroes that deserve the spotlight but don't get it. Like Batwoman! Or Vibe! Vibe?

Short, sweet, simple and to the point

My daughter and I both enjoyed this. We are both decently new to the comic book world. I think this did a good job explaining who Wonder Woman is and what she does. She was very excited and told me she would love for me to read this again to her.

Wonder Woman is introduced in this exciting story. She tells of her home land and how she came to be a super hero. This book is great to show girls that they can be strong and fight crime just like the boy super heroes.

I thought that it was cool because Wonder Woman is friends with Batman and Super Man, and they got to train Wonder Woman, and even though the crimes are too hard to defeat them, they still tried hard.

I like to see Wonder Woman represented in the superhero pantheon. The boys seem to like her adventures just as much as the guy heroes.

This is a nice introduction of Wonder Woman for children. It's a reader, so there's not much of interest for adults here.
