There are times when Bartholomew is good and times when he isn't. When George tells him to sit on his potty or be gentle with the little kitten, to eat his dinner, or get into bed, Ba says, "Nah!" and George has to tell him again in a big voice. But no matter how grumpy or grouchy Bartholomew may be, George is always ready to give him a hug because, when all is said and done, George loves little Ba just the way he is!
"Nah!" said Bartholomew. So these are 5 simple, and honestly quite repetitive and formulaic stories, but they are so adorable and little ones would love them. I absolutely adore these stories, and I love Ba and his "nah's". I love George too. The illustrations are simple, but in a way that would appeal to kids. After reading these 5 stories borrowed from the library I have decided this is one of those books I need to own.
Maybe it's the cool artwork, or the cute storylines, or the fact that it follows what appears to be a single father bear and his son. Maybe it's all of the above. Whatever the reason, Bartholomew Bear has to be one of my all time favourite storytime books. I've read all five to kids at storytime, even the rather dubious On Your Potty!
A collection of five tales about Bartholomew Bear: On Your Potty!; Eat Your Dinner!; Get Into Bed!; Be Gentle!; I Love You Just the Way You Are.
I thought they were absolutely delightful. I loved them, and I wanted a copy for myself. Ba is a cute character and George is a very good parent. The pictures are a delight. Wonderful read.
