Single father Joshua Mad Calf wasn't a romantic guy--but like his precious four-year-old daughter, he was enchanted by the princesslike Juliet Rousseau. Still, his focus needed to be healing his daughter's emotional wounds, not the fire ignited by a beauty with demons of her own....
Visiting Colorado to help her sister through a bitter divorce, Juliet had never anticipated the fierce attraction she felt in the rugged tribal cop's arms. Then her brother-in-law was found murdered and her sister was arrested for the crime. Suddenly more than Juliet's heart was in danger. Could she trust Josh to help her prove her sister's innocence in time?
Juliet's Law is the first book in an earlier trilogy by Ruth Wind, who now writes as Barbara O'Neal. The trilogy features three sisters and is set in Colorado. The sisters' relationships and a murder are the central themes. This is a good start. I look forward to reading the other two books and recommend this one.
So the ending... we are left wondering who the killer is, like the killing was initially a focal point but as soon as the romance happened and the main characters connected, the killing was put on the back burner.
Joshua's little daughter is adorable and sweet, who cannot help but love her? And Joshua and Juliet are quite adorable together.
This was a quick and simple read. The focus is more on Joshua and Juliet, even though I wish we knew what happened to Juliet's sister and why she is a target, also I want more of the little girl in it.
Frustrating because we have to read all 3 books in this Sisters of the Mountain series in order to find out whodunnit and for the couple who get engaged in the first book to get married.
