Discover why you do and what you do. Join Professor Robert Winston and introduce your child to the most powerful, complicated computer network that exists - their brain. It covers from what the different parts of the brain do and why it changes at different stages in a person's life, to why sleep is so important for us. It is packed with amazing illustrations and fascinating facts like why bird song is similar to human speech and what makes animals yawn, as well as fun brainteasers to test your child's memory, perception, reasoning and reactions.
This is supposed to be a kid's book, but it's very thorough and perfectly suited to adults, as well. I wish I had read it before I took intro to neuroscience. It was a lot of fun, with a ton of fascinating facts about the brain, and featured page after page of great graphics that brought neuroscience to life. I recommend it to anyone who wants to know more about the brain (we live in the golden age of neuroscience, after all) but doesn't want to take a course or read a textbook.
Amazing book that teaches you so much about the brain and psychology in a subtle way so that you have a lot of fun while doing it. It's is full of fun facts, quizzes and information and it is a must read for all ages. Great book by Robert Winston.
