A young bird is afraid of heights so he refuses to fly. Other animals encourage him to make his own way by walking, hopping, swimming and digging until he finds his siblings in their new tree. He must have the courage to fly now, doesn't he?

Pepito is afraid of heights. When his brothers and sisters fly off to a new tree, the little bird decides to make his own way there. A big fence, a wide river, and a busy road can't stop him. Pepito is a determined fellow who doesn't realize how brave he truly is.

Little bird Pepito is afraid of heights, which makes him unable to leave the nest with his brothers and sisters when it comes time to migrate to their new home in another tree. Pepito finds his own way there without flying. He overcomes obstacles by running, hopping, swimming, burrowing, and climbing. Pepito realizes that if he is brave enough to do all of this, then certainly he is brave enough to fly.

This is a simple, sweet story of bravery and inventive thinking. Story time guests are sure to enjoy the colorful, paper-cut illustrations of Pepito’s adventures with his new animal friends.

Jasur's current favorite book. This book was actually given to Tema in pre-k I think, but 3 yr old Jasur recites it and asks for it every day at naptime. I think he just likes to say "PepitO!" Cute pictures and a sweet story. I love the front pages where it shows a panoramic of Pepito's journey.

This little bird has a big lesson to teach: your life's journey is personal one, filled with experiences that teach you who you really are. All that in a few short pages! I have given this as a gift to those who are feeling discouraged in life.

Pepito is afraid of flying so when his family flies off to another place Pepito decides that he will get there by using another method.

This is a cute story with simple text about overcoming obstacles in your way and by being brave you can overcome your fears as well.

Pepito is afraid to fly, but he can do all sorts of other things! And the end is great. Lots of animal sounds to make, actions to do.

We liked this one. Pepito is afraid to fly, but still finds a way to get to the new nest. He discovers that he is indeed very brave.

Pepito is afraid of heights, so he uses all kinds of ways to travel that don't involve flying. He discovers that he's pretty brave after all.

Very simple a cute. The little bird is afraid of heights so he does a ton of other things to get to where his family is, until they point out that he's clearly very brave. The story involves recognizing and accepting the bird's fear (not denouncing it at all), problem-solving by deciding to go his own way, other animals giving suggestions to help, Pepito working through each suggestion, and finally Pepito's ability to see that he can do something he thought he could not, maybe even better than other people.

An excellent choice for home or school libraries for preschool. Pepito's afraid to fly, but manages to dig, jump, run and otherwise navigate the world with the help of a menagerie of colorful animals. In the end, he realizes he's braver than he thought and leads his bird friends in flight. A straightforward picture book about facing your fears- definitely recommended!

Cute book about little bird Pepito, who is too afraid to fly. This would be a cute book for a storytime, because you can get the kids to run, hop, swim, and dig like all of the other animals do as they're showing Pepito what they do instead of flying.

I love the pictures but that's about it. I don't like the name because I thought it would be a Mexican or Spanish story, not what the book is actually about

The layout of the book is easy to follow with simple illustrations and one sentence per page in order to not overwhelm young readers.
