Childhood stories that I have come to love, no matter how silly and weird they are. I will always appreciate each one...

My favorite:
My father is a butcher,
My mother cooks the meat,
I'm a little hot dog
That runs down the street.

These poems are so much fun! I love the simple rhymes and silly content of each of the poems. I think kids will have fun listening and reciting these fun rhymes.

...all guaranteed to drive the grown ups crazy!
It's true. It's so Alvin Schwartz, absurd and mean to be funny (and little bit annoying). I wish there's a solid theme, beside the rhymes.

The poetry was off the cuff and funny. Some of the songs I grew up singing were in the book. It was a lot of fun.

Two big names in kidlit teamed up for this collection of kid rhymes. Some are nostalgic, many are dates, few are funny.

This is probably a fine book for little kids, but I didn't find it useful for my purposes, so I'm not giving it a star rating.

As a child, this book amused me. But even then I thought some of the rhymes were pretty stupid.

Eh.
Some of the poems/silliness was okay; others were not good. I did enjoy the "I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee". I have fond memories of that from when I was a boy.
