WESTERN CIVILIZATION, Sixth Edition, is distinguished for both its wider definition of Europe that includes Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, and European frontiers and its global coverage.
While the book was informative and fitting for the university course I'm following about modern history, I do have some remarks.
It's too american centric, talks too little about other countries outside of the European Union and America, and sadly has unclear definitions. An example is the definition of facism. This definition is too broad.
A great book. Clear definitions, extra material for those who are interested in certain topics, great overview of the time described. I've had to buy this for a general history course at university but I still use it frequently for other classes.
