I got this from the library to have an accompanist play "Alice's Theme" for me to sing, but I read through the book while listening to the corresponding excerpts of the score. Most of the music is pretty easy to follow, although I did get lost in a few places, presumably where cuts were made, and "Blood of the Jabberwocky" is highly abridged--taking up only one page. I think it covers only the first minute of the piece, but can't say for certain since my sight-reading is just OK. I don't play other than intellectually--piecing together chords one by one from the staff, so I can't comment on the transcriptions themselves and how well they capture the spirit of the orchestral/choral score in piano reduction. No one is credited with the lyrics or with the reductions, so presumably, they are Elfman's own.
