Ivan Isaacs - Priest, barely appears at all in this volume. We get a little backstory of Netraphim and Temozarela and how she followed him to Earth, but kept her faith in God.

Then we have Cairo's brother taking vengeance on the agents of the Vatican - Ivan appears at the end of this fight for a brief appearance.

Finally we return to Nera and the circus folk and she puts on a show for Mr. Dudley's son. This is nicely intercut with scenes of Ivan preparing to face the Vatican forces.

Have volume 14 on hand as this ends on a cliff hanger.

The artwork is the main reason to read this one - its again absolutely beautiful with the varied mix from sketch, to highly detailed, to Medieval copies.

The story is wandering off track a little too much considering we're only 3 books from the conclusion. Its still intriguing, but following almost an entirely new cast this late in the saga is a trifle bewildering and there are so many different threads/groups of characters to draw together. Lizzie & Coburn don't appear at all in this volume.

This is fairly ambitious but just about manages to pull it off due to the high standard of artwork.

I haven't been very generous when it comes to reviewing this series, because aside from the spoilers, not much can really be said about the story or characters after you've summarized the first 3 books. I gave this one 4 stars because of the beautiful art! Oh my God! Min-Woo Hyung's striking illustrations are captivating and hypnotic. I can't get enough of his dark and enchanting style. I just hope that the story starts to make sense because we're drawing near the end of the series.

Grounded and Human

This particular volume is striking for its mix of Hope and goodness juxtapose to Ivan Isaac’s revenge maelstrom. The characters of the traveling circus are a reminder of the innocents of the world.
