A good story but there was so much verbal fighting that I got a bit tired of it, so it was hard to finish. Adrian had the misfortune to go to work for the wrong lawyer right out of law school. Being Hispanic, he was the perfect fall guy. The lawyer he worked for cheated on his wife Faith who found out and did a masterful job of taking him for all he was worth, which more or less covered her inheritance which he had used to set up the law practice. And all of this happens in the first eight pages of the book! The rest of the book is chock-full of crime and punishment as Adrian pulls Faith unwillingly into an attempt to clear his name. Lots of action, a few laughs, and an enlightening look at how Hispanics are treated in America.

Well developed character & plot—pulled me in!

This is the second book of Ms Rice’s I’ve read and I very much enjoyed it. She writes with great description so you can imagine the humidity and heat and the breeze of a ceiling fan as well as the joy a teen finds running around at the lake with friends. The romance is worked on as a natural enhancement to the plot rather than the plot being worked around sex scenes. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the next!

Entertaining, well written story with a bit of mystery and a woman who had had enough and was out for making sure justice is served. It was!

Throughout the story? Nope I don't really like it. But toward the ending is what make it interesting especially starting from when McCowan or known as Piggy showed up at the poettry where Quin/Raphael work. Plus the ending when Faith told Quin, she is pregnant. LOVE IT! Hence why the 4 stars rating.

This is another older book by Patricia Rice, but it is still a good read. The story follows two characters that were both affected by the choices of someone they both trusted. Neither is quite sure how much to trust the other, and take you through a gambit of emotions as they figure things out. This is also an interesting mystery that keeps you guessing right up to the end.

i really tried to finish reading this book - 3 times. it was just so incredibly slooooooow. and there was waaaaaaaaaaay too much plot going on. i finally just had to give up. if she just could have subtracted about a third of the plots maybe. sorry PR.

This was a cute story about a woman trying to move on with her life and a man out for revenge who wind up teaming up to bring down the true criminals. In the process, they, of course fall in love.
