A howling-good Halloween anthology with sexy werewolf tales from Jet Mykles, Raine Weaver, and Jeigh Lynn. Happy Howl-o-ween!
Leashed: Two for One Deal by Jet Mykles An evil witch gives Meg two weeks to join his coven. Or else. The deadline? Samhain. What's a good witch to do? Magic, of course. She casts an age-old summoning spell to attract a shapeshifter to leash for her protection. It works, but it's a two for one deal: Rudy, a werewolf, and Michael, a werejaguar.
Wolfe's Gate by Raine Weaver Grayson's a werewolf, who's sworn never to mate a human woman; he can't control the violence of his change. Red is the one woman who could make him change his mind. When Scarlett Red Grier meets Grayson Wolfe, she knows she has to have him. She's determined to bed this big bad Wolfe, even if it means risking her life.
All Hallows' Moon by Jeigh Lynn Jill Parker is on her way to a Halloween party when she drives into a wolf. She gets the injured beast into her car, and to shelter. Turns out, Jill's wolf is a werewolf. And he claims that she's his mate. Jill thinks Dash is an outrageous playboy. Now it's up to him to convince her he's telling the truth. And that she should care.
Jet is a writer of sexual fantasy with a firm belief that all men are at least partially gay, that vampires are just people with a liquid diet and shapeshifters live on every block.
4, 3 and 2.5 stars for three erotic paranormal romance stories.
4 stars for LEASHED: TWO FOR ONE DEAL by Jet Mykles.
Lots of hot steamy sex with two men and one woman. It was a fun story.
Meg is a witch. Roland is a male witch. He wants her to start a coven under him. She hates him. She casts a spell for two male shape shifters to be leashed to her to help protect her from Roland. Rudy is a wolf, Michael is a black Jaguar. The leashing brings them to her home. They like her and start licking, petting and playing with her. Then Roland’s shifters arrive causing trouble.
Data: Story length: 122 pages. Swearing language: strong. Sexual language: strong/erotic with rear door activity. Number of sex scenes: 7, some of them many pages long. Setting: probably current day U.S. Copyright: 2005. Genre: erotic paranormal romance.
Cute ideas. Kind of nice story, but the ending crisis and resolution was too predictable. It’s been done a lot.
Cute ideas with references to Little Red Riding Hood, the big bad wolf and grandma’s house. Scarlett has red hair and is called Red. Her car gets stuck in the mud during a storm and the only house for miles is Grayson Wolfe’s home. He is a wolf shape-shifter. Red bangs on the door, soaking wet and asks to wait out the storm. Gray reluctantly lets her stay. The sex scenes were pretty good. I did like some lines. Page 146 “he watched the watercolor-moonlight paint the landscape around him.” Page 209 “My father liked to prove his manhood by beating the two women in his life. I left first. My mother didn’t stay long afterward. When I finally came back home, she’d remarried. A nice guy. But she was so busy trying to please him twenty-four–seven, she couldn’t waste time on being a mother.”
Data: Story length: 115 pages. Swearing language: strong, including religious words. Sexual language: strong. Number of sex scenes: 4, a few pages long each. Setting: current day hills of Aurora, Ohio. Copyright: 2005. Genre: erotic paranormal romance.
Story conflict based on miscommunication. I didn’t like the story but I loved the character Dash.
Dash and Alex are wolf shape-shifter brothers. Alex and Jill are best friends and med students together. Alex brings Jill to his family’s Halloween party where Jill meets Dash. Dash immediately recognizes Jill’s scent as his mate. He’s unbelievably drawn to her. I liked the beginning of the story but not the last half. It was just Dash not knowing what to do and waiting. Conflict due to miscommunication. The best parts were seeing Dash in the beginning of two sex scenes. He was so in lust with her and desired her so much. It really drew me in. But the overall story wasn’t good enough to recommend.
Data: Story length: 98 pages. Swearing language: strong. Sexual language: strong. Number of sex scenes: 4, (1 to 6 pages each). Setting: current day Texas. Copyright: 2005. Genre: erotic paranormal romance.
Unfortunately, this anthology was not that great. I finished the Mykles and Weaver stories and didn't bother with the Lynn story.
Mykles's story is about a witch named Meg who needs protection from an evil witch that is trying to force her into his coven. She ends up binding two shifters, a werewolf and a werejaguar, to her. Michael and Rudy are not interested in being bound to this witch, but after seeing the trouble she is in, they decide to help her. I thought this was just OK. I felt that Meg did some dumb things and everything just happened too quickly. 3 stars
In Weaver's story, we meet a werewolf named Grayson and a human named Scarlett, aka Red. Red is on her way to visit her grandmother and gets lost in a storm. She needs shelter and comes across Gray's house. Gray is reluctant to let her in, since he is entertaining guests, but does so. He warns Red not to walk around and locks her in her room for her safety. What ensues is a jumbled story. There's too much going on; Gray's reluctance to mate a human, dissension in his pack, a new wolf in the territory. I didn't get a chance to care about any of the characters and I couldn't wait to finish it. It just wasn't very good. 2 stars
So far, I've just read "All Hallows' Moon" by Jeigh Lynn. Jeigh Lynn also writes as J.L. Langley, who I've recently enjoyed a trio of books by. As Jeigh Lynn she writes m/f. As J.L. Langley, she writes m/m. (Someone said they think her real name is Jeigh Lynn Langley, so each pen name is part of her real name.)
Anyway, so far all of those books, under both pen names are paranormal romance of the wolfy variety. Solid 4 star reads. Good characters. Decent plots. Sexy encounters.
In this one the unsuspecting female mate, Jill, of our werewolf, Dash, is his brother Alex's (entirely platonic) best friend. Dash discovers that Jill is his mate by smelling her scent on his brother. (They hugged after lunch.) Hilarious incestuously tinged scene where Dash keeps trying to sniff Alex.
Oh, and then Jill is due to come to the family Halloween party and she accidentally hits and injures Dash in wolf form when he's out for a run.
Good read, but like most shorts, too short. *g*

Next short - this time I read the Jet Mykles selection. A good witch, Meg, is being hounded by a bad witch and as a last ditch effort summons a lycanthrope she can magically collar to play bodyguard. Well, instead of one, two show up. A wolf, Rudy, and a jaguar, Michael. They're young beautiful and eager to please, in more ways than one. *g* Apparently the summoning spell is supposed to pull a sort of soul mate, and Meg lucked out to get two bi-sexual boys. (m-m-f scenes)
What's not to love? Reminds me a slight bit of the Anita/Jason/Nathaniel vibe in the AB books, only with different personalities. But, hey, doesn't every girl want a kitty and puppy to play with? *g*
My first Jet Mykles piece, to my knowledge. Might have to check out what else she's written.

Tried to read the third story, the Raine Weaver contribution. Not my cup of tea, at all. Too over dramatic or something. Just not appealing. But the 4 stars stands on the weight of the other two stories. The Jet Mykles being my favorite.
Leashed: Two for One Deal by Jet Mykles Shifter romance - m/m/f - a good read. Meg, a not-so-well-trained witch, is being threatened and finally tries the 'leashing' spell to draw a shifter bodyguard and tie him to her to protect her. She gets two - Michael, a growly, dominant, jaguar shifter and his lover, Rudy, a fun-loving wolf shifter. As the story develops, the threesome learn that leashes run both ways - tying them together...
Part of the Leashed series: * Leashed: Two For One Deal * Leashed 2: More Than A Bargain * Spiritual Noelle, A Sister Leashed Story * Leashed 3: The Lion’s Share
Wolfe's Gate by Raine Weaver Shifter romance - m/f - OK read. The whole 'it was a dark and stormy night' crossed with the red riding hood fairytale seemed a little forced. Mostly I down check this one for the heroine who seems to be a not particularly nice person to me. 'Red' runs away from things rather than deal with them and her blatant behavior toward the hero, Grayson Wolfe, [who has repeatedly warned her away and walked away from what she's offering] and what she wants from him qualifies as stalkerish.
Doesn't appear to be part of a series.
All Hallows' Moon by Jeigh Lynn [Jeigh Lynn also writes as J.L. Langley] Shifter romance - m/f - pretty good read. I liked it and enjoyed the characters a lot, but the plot is a little light. And did someone hit that boy with the 'stupid stick'? You meet your human mate, hit her with the fact you're a werewolf, spend the night making love, then depart without leaving a note because you think she won't wake up before you get back? Needless to say she's gone when her returns...
Part of the Moon series: All Hallow's Moon - prequel to Moon stories which seem to only be in ebook at this time Moon 1: Latin Moon Moon 2: A Lover's Moon Moon 3: A New Moon Moon 4: Life, Love and the Moon
Anthology. 3.33 stars. Better than average anthology. First time reading Jeigh Lynn and Raine Weaver. I really enjoyed Jet Mykles short story too.
Leashed: A Two for One Deal by Jet Mykles. Meg is a witch who sends out a spell that brings a shifter to her to be "leased" metaphysically tied to her. She needs this because a bad warlock is out to make her part of coven whether she likes it or not. Michael and Rudy arrive and are not happy because they've been leashed before and although they won't say it, it must have been unpleasant. I liked this story. I've read one of her Dark Fae books and liked this modern one more. ****
Wolfe's Gait by Raine Weaver. Red is caught in the middle of a storm and the nearest house is Grayson Wolfe's. A story very slightly based on Little Red Riding Hood. My mind wandered throughout this story. **
All Hallow's Moon by Jeigh Lynn. Jill is on her way to a Halloween party and hits a dog - a really big dog. When she goes to an empty cabin, the dog changes to Devon "Dash" and she finds out she's his mate. Really cute story. ****
I only read "Leashed: Two for One Deal" - the other two stories seemed boring so I skipped them.
But OMG Mykles story was SO GOOD - and it was actually fun to read (which alot of this genre isn't) - and the main characters all likable. I can not recommend it more - the writing and the way the author seemed to draw you into the story and the sex seems seemed almost magical/otherworldly - Loved It.
I've read a couple of other stories that involved m/f/m and frankly could take or leave them - but this was different and didn't seemed forced. There was a m/m and m/m/f scene which is usually a major turn off for me and I usually just skip over them but the kinda just flowed in naturally with story and didn't gross me out.
Outline: Witch accidently calls two shape shifter to help her out of a jam (only meant to call one) and ends up which her hands full and was in for alot of fun. I don't want to say more and ruin the story for you - just read it :)
The first story suprisingly drew me in. I had my doubts but the character connection was strong and I got why they all needed eachother. The plot was intresting as well.
The next story completely threw me. I felt like a ping pong ball try to keep up. While the details were good the characters had very little redeeming qualities to make you intrested in them. The character connection wasn't there. To top it all off the plot remained ping pongy.
I'll give another review of the third story later. I started reading it but after the first chapter just wasn't feeling the pull.
I only read Leashed: Two for One Deal by Jet Mykles. It was hot hot hot!!!! Loved it. The other 2 stories didn't keep my interest but I really enjoyed the first one. All the characters were likable and the Heroine was one lucky bitch, lol. Great story with likable characters and hot sex = Great book!
This short story just grabbed me from the first page and didn't let me go! It was riveting and funny, I really couldn't put it down. I was so disappointed when it was over...but then I saw it had 2 sequels which cheered me up immensely! I loved all three of them, and I am hoping to see a continuation of them soon...
I enjoyed the first and last stories the most and didn't really care for the middle one. Had that been better, I would have given it 4 stars. It did make me want to read more form Jet Mykles and Jeigh Lynn - so that's good :)
