When good girls go bad, very, very bad…The minute Carrie meets tattooed, bad-boy bartender Dallon, her decision is made. He’s the one, her ticket to freedom and a new, independent life. She’s tired of dictates and zero dates and following the path laid out before her by her well-meaning-but-completely-out-of touch-with-her-reality religious parents.Dallon sees the buttoned-up, full-of-curves woman outside the grocery store and feels the flames of hell licking at his heels. When she asks him for directions to the large, nearby university where she’s starting work, his gut-twisting lust for her doesn’t diminish, but those flames start to singe his tough-as-nails hide. With Dallon’s promise of not sleeping with anyone associated with the university his father is the dean of about to go up in smoke, Carrie takes the first exit off the Heavenly Highway straight onto Sin Street. She wants Dallon to teach her all the things a good girl should never know, and she won’t take Hell no for an answer.Reader What Dallon does with a beer bottle may be illegal in forty-eight out of fifty states…and at least two territories.
Vegetables as sex toys? Nah, that is so passé. Beer bottles and pool cues are the hit of the moment, according to Dallon. Yikes!
The happy recipient of Dallon's creative sex plays is Carrie, a 30-year-old woman who's - finally! - gotten tired of living a sheltered life under the influence of her parents and is ready to break loose. Who's better than Dallon, a tattooed bar owner who once lived in the same lifestyle, to help her find her naughty and wild side?
As you may have guessed by the first paragraph above, Dallon and Carrie's affair was very, er, interesting. Dallon's imagination had no limits and Carrie was more than willing to play along with him. I have to say that I was a bit uncomfortable with some of their sexcapades, though. While Dallon was careful enough to use protection (at least, the first times) and clean the beer bottle before using it on Carrie, he didn't show the same concern when it came to the pool cue. I couldn't help thinking how many people had handled that pool cue before. Germophobic much, Dina?
I guess I paid too much attention to those details because I wasn't completely sold on Dallon and Carrie. Dallon was okay, but Carrie was annoying in her inconsistent innocence and bravado. I had a hard time believing that she'd been "brave" enough to lose her virginity, spend the night with boys and even experiment with kissing girls - all that without her parents' knowledge, of course - but had never had the courage to drink a latte or a cappuccino. Did she really think those drinks were more sinful than sex?!?
All things considered, this was still an okay read. I liked Dallon and the sex scenes (sans pool cue) were steamy hot. I didn't think Dallon and Carrie were "soulmates", though.
And just because I have to, here's something to erase the fugly cover from our minds:
*** NSFW ***
How do you like "my" Dallon? I asked him to remove the guitar from his lap so I could take a better shot, but he said it's part of him - after all, he's the guitar player in the band. ;) ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
Wow, another great, naughty story about Dallon one of the other owners of the bar in Vinter's story Simple Need. Dallon the hero meets Carrie the heroine at the grocery store parking lot when she is asking him for directions on how to get somewhere. They have instant chemistry and she shows up that night at the bar asking him to show her how to be naughty. First of all, I have got to say that nothing remotely exciting ever happens to me at the grocery store. The kinkiest thing that happened to me was an old man in a walker asking me to squeeze the melons to see if they were ripe for him. Meanwhile, back at the bar, Dallon and Carrie proceed to do some very nasty, dirty, and hot naughty things involving a beer bottle and a pool cue. WHEW, where is this bar because it seems to be the place to go to get your kink on. This was a blazing hot short story if you can get past the cover because seriously, that guy is kinda creepy looking and not at all how I would picture Dallon.

Good Lord. Carnal Ecstasy is HOT! When Dallon sets his eyes on sweet Carrie, he finds that he can’t stop thinking about her.
The two have never been more different. Dallon is a sexy bad boy bartender and Carrie is a sweet and naive woman who has lived a sheltered life. But when Carrie quits her job and comes to the bar seeking Dallon out, Dallon can’t fight the temptation of turning this sweet girl into something naughty. When Carrie tries to break out of her sheltered dome and find herself, Dallon is right there beside her every step of the way ,teaching her things she wouldn’t have learned on her own.
Be warned, readers. What Dallon does with common objects in this one is definitely illegal!! Sexual appeal that potent is a crime! But I guess, rules are meant to be broken, right?
Ok I picked this out of curiosity to read it after a friend's review here in GR and I'm halfway through and I'm thinking: is it me or the sex is kind of boring? Maybe it's because Carrie is boring 'cause Dallon's ok and kind of hot, in my mind at least he is since Matthews didn't even bother to descibe him so I have no fucking clue what he looks like. And what's this crap about Carrie never had had tasted any kind of coffee like Latte or Cappucino because it would be a sinful experience! I mean I get that she lived a very sheltered life under the wings of her overprotective, zealous religious family, BUT COME ON!!! Never tasted a cappucino? Where did she grew up? In an Amish village somewhere out in the woods??
Just finished!!! Well my impression remains the same! A tad boring, which can't be good since this is an erotica novella!!
p.s.: On a shallow note, that is one hell of a hideous cover!! Whoever chose it in the marketing department has no sense of taste in covers and men!
This time we meet Dallon who owns a bar with Vinter (who I've already met and boy is he H.O.T) and Jaz who I'm about to find out all about. Dallon meets Carrie who is all so sweet but just wants to turn all naughty and Dallon is just on hand to help her with that. Carrie has a similar background to Dallon and this just proves too much for Dallon and he doesn't want to let Carrie go.
Be aware Dallon likes to use the objects from the bar in the naughtiness!!!!!
So now onto Jaz ......

Bartender and co-owner, Dallon helps Carrie break out of her protective shell by showing her the ropes.
How you ask? By showing her proper usage of “bar objects” such as barstool, pool table, que sticks and the unforgettable beer bottle. He is very creative. ;)
Dallon is bar co-owner with Vinter (who I love) and Jaz (the next book). Note, that these men once shared not only the bar ownership but shared partners in bed. Totally BAD boys. Fun books to read.
Thanks Annie, As I will never drink beer without thinking of Dallon!!!
The believability here is a hard zero, but that didn't stop me from liking this book for what it was. Do I wish there were more to the characters? Yeah. But all in all I enjoyed it.
This one wasn't as great as the first but I still liked it. It read a lot quicker than the last one, even though it's already very short, and there were a few scenes that kinda squicked me out. That pretty much turned me off for a bit. Also, it lacked the emotion that book one did. I didn't feel that Dallon and Carrie were really seriously into each other, or at least as deeply that I wanted them to be.
Overall, not a bad read. I really like that Lissa writes about curvy and plus sized heroines and not just the typical stick thin girls that we always read about. I could have done without the women being so innocent though, but that would have meant that we'd have no hot story to read.
I'm a bit disappointed with this one. the other two books from this series are a lot better. this one is just a bit, I don't know... It just didn't "do" it for me. I like kink just as much as the next person, maybe even more, but there was something unrealistic about all of this...
I wasn’t expecting to love this book. I have read a Lissa Matthews story before and it didn’t sit well with me. It wasn’t badly written, I just didn’t like the characters and their extreme lack of inhibitions. But I am the first to state I am a moody bee with an itch when it comes to erotica. I need to be in the right naughty and dirty frame of mind.
Anyway, enough rambling.
I liked Carnal Ecstasy. I was definitely in the right mood for something dirty....and dirty is definitely what it was.
I will never, ever look at a beer bottle or pool cue the same way again. EVER. The story was very masculine. A lot of male perspective and Dallon was 100% macho male. If you are looking for a soft and sweet, pretty boy, who is willing to wait for you to grow into your sexuality this is definitely not the book for you. However, if you like a confident, tattooed up, beast of a man that will push every one of your boundaries in the name of desire, then this may just be the book for you.
**Side note – if you’re not a fan of foreign objects being placed into the temple of delight I would suggest hop, skipping and jumping away from this one.
Merged review:
Carnal ecstasy.
4 stars 5 hotness

First off, the cover doesn't do it for me. So, I'm going to ignore the cover. But the book...I liked it more than Simple Need. Maybe it's because I've always been a little enamoured of that whole seemingly innocent girl meets really bad boy and he teaches her his wild ways storyline. I enjoyed Carnal Ecstasy and am looking forward to reading Jaz's story. Yay!
For the love of all that is twisted and dirty (borrowing Dallon's phrase) I so wanted to love Dallon's story. But he was just too in control of the sex and himself. He needed to lighten up a bit.. This book just didn't do much for me... Didn't fancy the cover as well..
Fun and frisky with a little bit of deviant. A 67 page quickie that will definitely get you looking for Vinter, Dallon and Jax's bar! Can't wait for Jax's book!
For those of you that know me and those that don't this is my little statement about short books.... I do not judge short stories on the rush of their relationships, because they are just that - short stories. So, yes the relationships always could have been drawn out more, yea it seems like they fall in love to fast and of course the story could have been made longer... but it is a short story. So with that said.... here is my review...
This is definitely a book that will get you blood boiling the minute you start reading it. From the first to the last page, you will squirm, you will sweat, you will beg, you will be puddy in Dallon's hand. Which might not be a bad thing. Ms. Lissa will make you look at household items in a completely different light. Intrigued yet??
The title suits this story to a freaking tee. When you think of carnal, what do you think of? All things naughty, all things... sexual. And when you think of ecstasy... Oh I saw a glitter light up in those eyes and a blush creep to your checks. Oh yeah, when you think of that word, your mind goes into over drive. Coupled with naughty, sexual and ecstasy, that about wraps up this story. Ms. Lissa gives us two characters who will make your fingers burn to the last page to find out what happens to them. You immediately see the sparks fly, the hard-ons happen and you will hear... Oh wait... you must read the story to know about those parts. And believe me, Ms. Lissa was not shy about what she gave you in this story.
Now with this story, I have to say that one thing struck a cord with me and that was Carrie was kinda too innocent for a thirty year woman. Carrie lived a very sheltered life with her very strict and religious parents. But then I sat and thought about people I actually know. Families I know, have seen on tv or have heard about. I mean, I do not put anything past anyone these days. So, she is a believable character, but her innocence was a little worrisome for me. Hell, I wanted to take her myself and kinda protect her. At the same time wanted to hold her hand and give her the best damn experiences I could. So, I know where Dallon was coming from when he discovered the hidden treasures locked within Carrie. And believe me, Dallon teaches Carrie some new array of tricks. Some readers might not like his ideas of what turns him on... but you have to admit that ~ that is a man. Some men don't think conventional toys are good enough. He is a walking hard-on who thinks about having sex, or at least getting a blow job every chance he can. Blushing or giggling, I will take that to mean you are thinking of the men you know right now and Dallon is one of those men you will want to know.
This story is truly a hot read. I read it in one night and had to take a cold shower after. Okay... maybe I was not alone, Dallon was there, LMBO!!! Okay okay, in my dreams ~ maybe. But believe me after you read this story, you will want to visit this bar! Hell, I want to move to where this bar is located at... I mean the bar is owned by three.... not one... not two... three hellva walking, talking, sexy as men!!! Dallon finds Carrie and together they discover all things in Carnal Ecstasy! So... go find out what Ecstasy they engage in!!! Have a fan handy!
I think after the sheer perfection of Simple Need, it would be hard to match it, and I had high hopes for Carnal Ecstasy, the second book in this trilogy.
Dallon, part bar-owner, part-tattoo-parlour-owner and best friend of Vintner and Jaz is not looking for an emotional entanglement. He’s especially not looking for Carrie – the complete opposite of his ‘type’. She’s a good girl, a well brought up Christian who follows her parents instructions in everything. Until now. She’s rebelling – and first on her list of things to try is the gorgeous man that she’s just met.
“You don’t need to be messing with me, Carrie. You really don’t. If ever there was a black sheep, I’m it. My reputation is bad, very, very bad. It’s best that you go. Now.”
He wants her – wanted her from the moment she stopped him outside to ask for directions – but recognizes that she isn’t the type for his usual one-night stand. So he tries to resist her… and fails.
FedEx was going to bust through the doors, package him up and send him straight to hell by ten the next morning for asking his next question and already knowing the answer. “What else do you want?” “You.”
She worries that she’s too innocent.
“Naughty girls are always sexy, but taking a girl like you,” he slid a hand down the lace to cup her pussy through it, “and turning her into a naughty one is even sexier.”
For the first time ever, Dallon shares his bed with a woman. All night.
She looked adorable and rumpled though. Her skin had that just-awakened flush, her eyes were still drowsy and heavy lidded. She was so warm and soft, and he wanted to melt into her at the same time he wanted to kick her out of his bed because she was a threat to everything he knew prior to meeting her. His one-night stands and easy lays were gonna come to a screeching halt if he didn’t get rid of her soon.
So… Carrie and Dallon hook up and have some hot sex. There’s a bit of character growth and a nice easy ending, but it didn’t grab me. It was just too… empty, a bit like a puzzle where you fill in the blanks.
I think it suffered from being so short, that there wasn’t time for any character depth. I didn’t get why Dallon was such a bad, bad boy. He has tats and piercings, and runs a bar. He didn’t come across as anything other than thoughtful and generous – and affectionate. He’s polite with her parents. Good with his friends, and loving with Carrie. And why did Carrie suddenly decide to rebel? Going from long-term celibacy to instant sex-kitten overnight, was a bit of a leap. On the plus side, Lissa Matthews has a lovely relaxed style of writing, so if you’re looking for a quick, hot read, this ticks the boxes. 3 out of 5.
This was an okay little story about Dallon and Carrie. Dallon is actually a friend/business partner to Vinter from Simple Need. So he works at the same bar and is co-owner along with Vinter, and Jaz.
He meets Carrie at a grocery store. She's new in town and has that innocent thing going for her. For some reason they hit it off and she comes to his bar later that night where, obviously, they get to the bow-chicka-bow-wow.
This is a short story, so there obviously can't be much character development. But, I thought some things were a little ridiculous. For example, she's saying she quit her job partially because she wanted to be with him? She met him once and said all of two words to him. It just didn't add up. I'm all for anonymous sex, but saying love is lust is a bit much. They seemed to fall for each other a little too fast.
The sex was pretty good, but it could have been better. I don't know what it is, but I didn't like it as much as I did Simple Need.
Overall though, a sexy little read. I'll definitely be checking out Jaz's story next in Ink Spots.

Following the same formula as Ink Spots, which is actually the 3rd book in the series.....but one that I read first (I didn't know!) - this book is basically one hot sex scene after another....with just enough plot and character development thrown in to make you care about the story and the characters.
This one focuses on Dallon and Carrie. They randomly meet at a store when she asks him for directions to the local Christian university where she just began working. She is new in town and was running errands and got turned around. They strike up a very brief conversation and he happens to mention where he worked - and then they each go about their day. Dallon is attracted to her, but doubts he'll ever see her again. He's part owner of a bar in a rough part of town and she's a buttoned up goody girl who works at the God school.
Well, that night, she comes in as the bar is closing and wants a drink. Guessing that's she's never even HAD a drink.....Dallon gives her a beer and proceeds to talk to her, since they're the only folks left that late. She confesses that she quit her job. She explains that it just wasn't her....it was a job that her very Godly father secured for her....and she was tired of not having any say so in her own life and she wasn't her parents and this wasn't what she wanted out of life, etc. Dallon immediately feels a bond with her, because he, too, came from a similar background. Religions parents who just didn't "get" him.
Dallon feels Carrie is too good for him.....Carrie wants Dallon to teach her how to be a naughty girl. So, true to all good smut books - they have crazy hot monkey sex in the bar, on the pool table, everywhere.
Hot as hell. Yes.....totally. But I will admit I had a slight problem with 2 things in this book. And really - it wasn't even what was done with the neck of the beer bottle and the pool stick. (Hint - Dallon uses them as, um, sexual devices in Carrie's hoo-ha.) Now.....for me.....it's really a sanitation issue. Did he properly wash those items? I mean, how many gross man hands handled that pool stick? I mean....ewwww. (But I'm sort of a germ phobe....and I'm digressing badly.....)
This was another super quick read with crazy hot yummy sex. Lissa Matthews can write the hot shit, no doubt.
This is the second short story in a series I am reading. I think I enjoyed it as much as I did because I could relate to Carrie to a degree. She grew up in a very conservative Baptist family that had lain an expected path at her feet. Now at the age of 30 she is finally done letting daddy pay the bills and tell her what to do. She sees Dallon and wants him. She knows she's going to have to quit her job and get out from under daddy's thumb to have the one night with this bad boy of her fantasies. That's just what she does.
To her surprise Dallon's daddy is the local Baptist preacher and dean of the college. Dallon too has chosen to be the black sheep and follow his heart.
She wants to be naughty and at 30 I'm thinking she's over due for a pool table romp.
Once again it was excellently executed for a short story. For so few words it packed a great punch.
as soon as my official review posts to the website, I'll add it here. Enjoy!
The unfortunately named Dallon in this second of the Simple Needs series is naughty, filthy, and hot. He encounters Carrie while she is looking for her new job. He gives her directions as well as the location of the bar he co-owns. Little Miss Innocent Carrie is tired of living the life her ultra religious parents have laid out for her and decides she wants to take a chance and see if Dallon is willing to show her how to be a naughty girl. (I'll take this opportunity to say that he also taught me some things as well.)
I love Dallon. He is dirty, sexy, honest, but also a gentle alpha. Carrie was a bit coquettish for me but I still liked her. This is a hot one folks, be ready to blush as much as Carrie did!
This one didn't do it for me! Beer bottle and pool cue full of chalk did not scream "HOT" to me! Plus, the female character didn't work... Thirty year old who lived by herself, after living in the dorms in college, who watched porn for a whole decade, who never had a latte??? And who is dying to experience life and discover herself after meeting a tattooed guy at the parking lot of a super market.... Ehhh, not so much! The pool table and the shower sex was hot. The way he stood up for her in confrontation with her parents was sweet. But I wouldn't have read it had it been a 300 page book. The first book was awesome; the third seems promising; this one just wasn't my "cup of latte"! LOL

I have never, in my entire life, thought that a beer bottle could be used in such a way...huh.
One thing I can say about this man is: he's damn creative. Holly Moly, if you want to read this book, know that you will need new panties ASAP.
Just like the first book of the series, this was a VERY short story. What's interesting in this one is that the main female character NEVER narrates the story. Which is great, from my point of view, in this case.
The main male character is a 100% alpha-male-bad-boy-hottie. And the main female character is a christian girl that wants to be bad (very, very bad), if you know what I mean.
Did not like this one. I fail to understand why the author centres on the female body. From the viewpoint of a heterosexual woman this is not very exciting. Men don't tend to indulge in this genre all that much, so I fail to see the point of this approach. Personally, I am not particularly interested in how hot and steamy SHE was. The story was not written so much to celebrate carnal ecstasy as it was to celebrate how Carrie is bashful, and needs someone to help her deal with a serious case of Oedipus complex. I hate to say that reading this was a complete waste of my time.
