Julian's Jeopardy

Paranormal Shape-shifter
Dawn Endeavor; Previous Hayashi's Hero

Genetic manipulation has created the first super soldier, the Circ. The second generation of Circs, able to transform into hulking, inhuman beasts at will and psychically gifted is much more dangerous than the first. Under Project Dawn Endeavor, the secret four-man team belongs to the mysterious Mrs. Sharpe who is bent on cleaning up science gone wrong around the globe on behalf of the United States government. But there’s more to her agenda than patriotism. If only the team knew what she really had planned.

As leader of the Circs of Dawn Endeavor, Julian Hawkins takes his responsibilities seriously. With two of his Circs now mated, life for his team is evolving, slowly but surely, into something with which Jules is unfamiliar, and he's not sure what to do about it. As if personal strife wasn't enough, an old enemy has Jules in his sights.

Kidnapped and held prisoner in the remote Amazon jungle, Jules comes perilously close to dying when a woman made of light saves him. She has the purest aura he’s ever seen, a body made for loving, and a heart made just for him. Except she's not real. But months after his rescue, when Mrs. Sharpe introduces the woman as a new part of the team, can he trust what he sees? Or is the woman there for another reason entirely, one that will put his team, and his heart, in dire jeopardy?

I just haven't been able to get into this shoot off series compared to the original Circ's Recruits. Its super hot and has action, but it doesn't gel for me like the first series.

I read and reviewed Marie Harte’s previous Dawn Endeavor book—Hayashi’s Hero—awhile ago, so when I got the chance to read Julian’s Jeopardy I was all over it. And the promise of an exciting story with a so-sexy romance that I found in Hayashi’s Hero was once again fantastically realised in this third in the series. In fact I loved Hayashi’s Hero so much I went back and bought the first book in the series – Fallon’s Flame.

In Julian’s Jeopardy we’re treated to Julian Hawke’s story. Jules is the team leader and he’s got the total and complete respect of his men. Now that they’re Circs—men enhanced by genetic experiments begun by the government—they have an even stronger relationship. And it’s one heckuva close relationship. *grin* The nature of the Circs includes an increased sex drive and the only ones with whom they can get relief without danger to the partner are other Circs. If you love man-on-man action, there’s enough in this story to titillate.

But the basic relationship—sexual and otherwise—in Julian’s Jeopardy is male-female. And Julian’s female, Sheridan Keyes, is a woman worthy of the position of leader’s mate. I liked that she had psychic abilities of her own and I really liked the inferno of attraction between the two of. She’s a woman who’s in a situation that’s way over her head—through no fault of her own—and she’s doing what she can to rectify it. She’s got a good heart and I liked that she’s not a perfect person: I’m talking about her very poor social skills. Although the lack of social suavity is part of the reason that she’s such a wonderful researcher. It’s much easier to deal with things rather than people: Hoo boy, is she in for a surprise!

I love the combination of adventure and romance in a story and in Ms. Harte’s Dawn Endeavor series we find a lot of both. There’s an edge-of-the-seat element that permeates everything, including the romance. But another thing that I love about this series is the whole idea of Circs. In this respect Marie Harte has come up with a great twist on the shifter theme. Add in that the Circs on the Dawn Endeavor team are all former SEALs—another fantasy element that is H-O-T—then you get the ingredients for lots of action …any kind of action you can name.

Once again Marie Harte leaves her readers dealing with a bit of cliffhanger; we certainly know who will be featured in the next story and I can hardly wait. But for Jules and Sheridan, their story is nicely wrapped up and in the next book I’m looking forward to seeing more of them as well as Jesse Fallon and his wife Olivia, Kisho Hayashi and his mate / partner Morgan Reynolds as well as the inimitable Alicia Sharpe. Now THAT woman is mystery personified… I’m sincerely hoping that ALL my questions will be answered in Gunnar Tersch and Ava Belle’s story… but I guess I’ll have to wait… yet again. Have I mentioned that I hate waiting?

Julian Hawkins is the leader of the Dawn Endeavor team consisting of 4 Navy SEALs that have been genetically enhanced as super-soldiers. Kidnapped and held prisoner in the Amazon Jungle, Julian is aided by a scientist that is studying plant properties in the adjoining lab.

Sheridan Keyes, a botanist lured to the Amazon jungle with the incentive of studying a unique plant with unusual properties, is shocked when she discovers a man that has been chained and beaten.

I thought the opening of this book was pretty interesting with Julian's incarceration. The villain, COL Ricardo Montana, is the same person that the D.E. team has been trying to track down in the last book. The team must find Julian and stop the lab, but they will need the psychic abilities of all the team members as well as the psychic abilities of unassuming botanist Sheridan Keyes.

This book was my best so far in the series. Jules was really great. I felt so sorry for him when he was losing his mind in captivity. Sheridan was so courageous. To help Jules even with the threat of death hanging over her head was so great. I loved them as a couple. The added a much need lightness to the Dawn Endeavor team. I already suspected who Montana's boss was and to have it confirmed was really sad. Its going to crush the team when the find out. I always knew there was more to Ava but to find out that she really is a Circ was very surprising. I'm anxious to see how she and Gunnar will make their relationship work.

"“Oh, that tickles.” She inched closer and stroked the hard plane of his abdomen. “You must work out a lot. I can see all your muscles.”" after this mutant has run through the jungle for hours, he has fangs and has partway changed to his beast, and this is the best she can come up with!? Like a bad pick up line in a bar. Sloppily written, inconsistent characters, this is far from the best I've ead from this author

Julian’s Jeopardy, book 3 of the Dawn Endeavors series, by Marie Harte @authormarieharte. This is a re-read of the series for me. I had been thinking about this series for months & finally decided no time like the present! 🤩

Jules & Sheridan had a rough start since they met while Jules was being held captive & Sheridan found him in a cell chained to the walls. Yikes! Man, the steam that came from this book was intense! A menage, hot MF & MM! 🥵

Enjoyable with a few surprises.
Jules and Sheridan meet in a tense and terrible situation.
Sheridan basically saves Jules life and is then bought into the team by Mrs Sharpe. That woman certainly has some secrets going on. Some of which come out in this book.
The team give Sheridan a hard time but all is well when they learn she is also Circ.
Loved the twist with Grayson.
The baddie Montana is finally dealt with but we still have the big boss to find and deal with.
Read years ago but review is missing. Reread through Kindle Unlimited.

The plot thickens! This is a Ms. Harte paranormal so I'm going to like it. We learn more about the Circ and Julian finds his mate! Sheridan can lay her hands on me anytime. She can heal with her hands which is pretty cool. I did feel this book was a cock tease. I want to know more about Alicia and Ava. What is going on and what is up with the Admiral? Something fishy is definitely going on.

The sex in this one was still tasty and smoldering hot for me. I love when she writes m/m sex and m/m/f. Her threesomes are hot for me because the men are fucking each other and also pleasuring the woman. It was pretty close this time for a little f/f action. I was disappointed when it didn't happen.

This is a nice continuation of the Dawn series. I recommend for those into romance and a bit of m/m/f.
