A.K. Evans is a contemporary romance author of over twenty published novels. While she enjoys writing a good romantic suspense novel, Andrea’s favorite books to write have been her extreme sports romances. That might have something to do with the fact that she, along with her husband and two sons, can’t get enough of extreme sports.

Before becoming a writer, Andrea did a brief stint in the insurance and financial services industry and managed her husband’s performance automotive business. That love of extreme sports? She used to drive race cars!

When Andrea isn’t writing, she can be found homeschooling her two sons, doing yoga, snowboarding, reading, or traveling with her family. She and her husband are currently taking road trips throughout the country to visit all 50 states with their boys.

How did we already get to book 10 in this series? This book starts with the usual worry and fear. Maxi discovers something that others would prefer to stay hidden. Fearful, she goes to Harper Security for help, and as soon as Kit sees her, he knows he needs to protect her. There are a lot of emotions involved, and I felt that completely.

This love story is a slow burn, which I love, and I feel this story needed it. But it went from that to full-on. I would, however, now that the series is going on, like to see more investigation and more happening actually around Harper Security. As it is all getting very much the same for most of the stories.

I do, however, really recommend this story and series. Especially if you love a damsel in distress and a protective alpha male.

Book ten in this Harper Security Ops series is the story about Kit Sexton and Maxie Oliver. Maxie found herself in deep water when she discovered secrets in her workplace that others would prefer she didn’t know anything about. After they got to her she went to Harper Security for help… enter Kit who was like her white knight… of sorts.

I couldn’t believe what Maxie had been through, and yes, it definitely could have been worse, but it certainly was no picnic either. This whole scenario ramped up my interest immediately and I was hooked into the story.

Maxie was a creative woman who was stifled in the job she had but it did pay the bills. I liked her no nonsense approach to life and how she had an inner strength to rely on when she needed it. Kit was an absolute honey from the get go, his caring attention and kindness to Maxie was enduring. Both characters are perfect together.

The romance between Kit and Maxie slowly built into a roaring inferno of passion. One could say they were instantly attracted, but it was definitely a slow burn romance, which was fitting for the story. The romance became the focus for most of the story, and while I did enjoy it, I was hoping for more exciting action and drama.

Maxie is in some serious danger. At first, she dismissed the lurking feelings of worry, but as time passed and someone didn’t show up, she just knew something was truly happening. And then the danger came for her. Literally. After finding her way to some Good Samaritans, she gets to Kit. I mean, she didn’t know that he was who she needs to get to, but sometimes fate intervenes when we most need it. And boy, does it. Because Kit sees a strong, caring, scared woman who needs him and is 100% all in for both professional and personal reasons immediately.

It almost gets destroyed when one thinks that acting skills may be extremely good, but as I’ve come to expect from this author, Maxie and Kit communicate and find that they’re truly on the same page. And so begins the serious heat. The danger may still be out there, but Kit and Maxie know that they can beat anything together. And guess what? I’m pretty sure they’re right. Because I enjoyed their buildup, their fall into love, and their view of forever together. I can’t wait for more of this series because I’m sure whoever comes next will be just as fantastic as these two are!

I honestly don’t think I could get enough of this world. Each story has so much intensity and Silenced delivers just that. I also really love how the title plays into the story with this one. Maxie is a spitfire but she is also a little fragile. The way Kit and her connect is just everything! The twisty turns and spicy moments, I am just in love with their story. The concept was everything and I could not put it down once I started. Great read!

“Silenced” is AMAZING
Oh my goodness! I know I’ve said it before, but the newest A.K. Evans story is my FAVORITE! Kit and Maxie’s book,“Silenced,” is full of suspense and heat, and Kit is as sweet as he is gorgeous! He jumped way up my book boyfriend list almost immediately, especially when narrated by one of my all-time favorite narrators - TROY DURAN!!! Troy's alternate voices are incredible, and I lose myself in his performance every, single time. Maxie, narrated by Addison Barnes, is a great partner in this HEA as well. Addison brings emotion to the story that I love, but her alternate voice throws me off a bit. Despite that, the overall performance coupled with the elements of danger and the glimpses of the rest of the Harper Security Ops cast of characters...well it's no wonder why I I was completely hooked. I listened after I had the opportunity to read the book, and it only got better.

Silenced is a thrilling romance that kept me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't help but be drawn into the world of danger, fake dating, suspense, and a slow-burn romance that had my heart aflutter.

Kit and Maxie are characters you can't help but root for. Right from their initial encounter, sparks flew between them, and when Kit suggested the idea of becoming her counterfeit boyfriend, it was a moment that deepened my affection for his character. Their connection crackled with an undeniable chemistry, but the enforced closeness they experienced only heightened the intensity of their bond.

The most enthralling aspect of this narrative, for me, was the gradual progression of their relationship. It was a slow-burning romance that left me in eager anticipation, eagerly flipping pages to witness the moment when they would finally succumb to their feelings. And when that moment finally arrived, the explosion of passion was akin to a dazzling fireworks display on the written page.

Once again, A.K. Evans demonstrates her mastery of storytelling. Her ability to craft a narrative that is both captivating and impossible to set aside is truly remarkable. Silenced stands as a compelling choice for readers who crave a romance imbued with danger, suspense, and a love story that will leave you spellbound. Kit and Maxie's journey is one that you should unquestionably experience.

Silenced is Book 10 in the Harper Security Ops series by A.K. Evans, featuring an exciting fake-dating romantic suspense story for Kit and Maxie. The company that Maxie works for is in the middle of a major merger. When a coworker comes to her to sound the alarm about a scandal being brewing, Maxie is unsure what to do, even after that coworker goes missing. When she finds the evidence herself, she becomes a target. She goes to HSO for help, where she meets Kit, and immediately feels safe. As their connection grows, will they have a chance to build a lasting relationship, before the people after Maxie make good on their threats?

Maxie sure went through a ton in this book, but she sure hit the jackpot with Kit!! He was a dreamy MMC— protective alpha hero who’s also compassionate, supportive, and so loving! While they had chemistry in spades, there was a bit of a slow build to the main event, giving them the perfect blend of sweet and spicy! When they finally crossed that line, they were straight up fire!!🔥🔥 The suspense plot, while definitely secondary to the romance, was interesting throughout with drama, action, and a twist. I kind of assumed that’s what might happen, but it was still fun to read! Again, I always love the banter and camaraderie of all the HSO characters and that special bond they have. That sneak peak of the prologue of Mistaken already has me intrigued as well! I can’t wait to see what happens next!

I received an advanced review copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

Silenced by AK Evans is book 10 in the Harper Security series. While each book could be considered a standalone, I do recommend reading them as a series as there are overlapping characters and references to other atorylines. (My recommendation is an enhancement, not a necessity!) And now for Maxie and Kit's story!

I feel a bit of a kinship to Maxie, the main character, in the first couple of chapters. Maxwell "Maxie" Oliver is in Accounts Payable and Receivables for Young Pharmaceutical, which is currently trying to merge with Mystic Labs. She's a homebody who doesn’t love her job or socializing and she wants to avoid a coworker trying to catch her at the end of the day.

Ana, her coworker, seems to be in a bit of a pickle. After promising to contact her about an issue at work, Ana disappears. Asked to fill in for Ana, Maxie discovers what Ana was worried about and she finds herself in a precarious position as well.

Enter Kit Sexton. Kit works for Harper Security as a security specialist. When he happens to be the first contact for Maxie after her brief but terrifying ordeal, he jumps at the chance to be her security.

The dynamics between Maxie and Kit were a combination of instalove and slow burn. It probably doesnt make sense, but if you read it, you will know what I mean. This was also the first book in the series where I feel like the suspense was toned down. I like AK Evans books for the balance of not being over the top, but enough suspense to keep the book interesting, but this one felt like the scandal took a back seat to everything else. I'm not saying it wasn't a good read, it just felt like the suspense was an afterthought to the romance between Kit and Maxie.

I liked the plot and enjoyed the story. 4 star read for me.

I have so many notes on this book... IDK what is going on. A.K. Evans is a favorite author of mine, but the last couple of Harper Security books have not been my fave.

First: How did the "kidnappers" get in? Did they bust down the door? Break a window? Was the house unlocked?
Why was that not investigated?

Kit has limited chapters. I felt he didn't play a huge role in this book/story. Yes, he had others working on the case while he was with Maxie, but there could have been more chapters where he was communicating with his team.

For example: Did Harper Security Ops (HSO) reach out to Ana's ex-husband?
Did HSO look into Ethan and Anna and their families?
Why didn't Kit reach out to Royce as the owner and a P.I. to help with this case?

Why did Marcia, (HR) at Young Pharm, talk about addressing rumors reguarding Ana?
It wasn't clear whether or not HR reached out to find Ana or not...
Did the reach out to Maxie when she didn't go back to work? Or did Maxie call? Was Marcia in on the scandal?

In chapter 18, during the news report on TV, the reporters mentioned a scandal but never mentioned what it was. I wouldn't think a news station would run a story with limited facts. (This is a book, not real life..)

Who went to the press? The reporter said it was an anonomys tip, but it feels like a loose end.

Chapter 19, after Maxie was taken, why did Kit wait so long to call HSO? Why not call and give the team a heads up that she was missing while he was waiting on the gym owner to pull up security footage so he could relay any pertinant information?

Who was the woman in the bathroom that knocked Maxie out?

Did they ever install a security system at Maxie's house?

What happened to Young Pharm and Mystic Labs?

I love a good slow burn romance, and this book definitely delivered on that. Of course with all of the Harper Security books, danger, suspense and a kidnapping here or there is to be expected and that kept me wondering how everything was going to play out. Maxie and Kit have such a sweet romance and this book really balanced the sweet with the spice. I love getting to go back to all of my favorite characters, and I love watching characters finally find their happily ever after. Definitely a must read book!- Alisa

Maxwell "Maxie" Oliver is an accountant for Young Pharmaceutical and mainly keeps to herself at work. When one of her co-workers, Ana, approaches her and asks to talk about information she has about a merger their company is going through she doesn't really give it much thought until Ana doesn't show up at work on Monday and Maxie is now responsible for her job.

When Maxie discovers what Ana was worried about she knows she has to be very careful but with one wrong comment made, Maxie knows she is in trouble.

Kit Sexton works for Harper Security as one of their bodyguards and when someone pulls up with Maxie he wants to help protect her.

Can Maxie do what Kit needs her to do in order to keep her safe? Will their intense chemistry distract them from what they are up against?

I liked this book a lot more than the few previous ones but I still think we need more action on the Harper Security front with them doing their jobs.

I thought Maxie was a good character who seemed quite independent at the beginning of the book but then as soon as she meets Kit she becomes someone who wants to do what they can to make someone else happy while doubting what she has to offer anyone in a relationship. I liked her but she seemed a bit of a mixed bag and I also would have liked her to show more trauma with what she had been through.

Kit was a good strong alpha male who was ready to take care of Maxie from the first moment he met her. He was good at his job and it was obvious right away how attracted he was to Maxie.

I did find it interesting how the two top computer guys could find nothing on a missing character as I thought that's what they were supposed to do.

The chemistry was sizzling between the two of them and how it started off as "pretending" then almost immediately went to full on together. This was definitely another insta-love relationship.

I liked that there was a little more action on the actual case but I still think the author needs to add more. I hate that everything is wrapped up in a chapter once we get started to something going wrong. We need to delay the solving and get it in a few chapters to keep the reader in suspense longer.

Hopefully the next book will have some additional action and suspense. - By Rebecca

Silenced is one of my favourite Harper Security Ops's books by Ms. Evans. She gives us a story of danger, fake dating, suspense and a slow-burn romance that will have you swooning over Kit and wanting to hug Maxie and tell her everything will be ok.
I was intrigued right from the start with a co-worker of Maxie's going missing and not she is doing that person's job. Did she find something that put her in danger? Will Maxie find the same information and if so, will anything happen to her? Her company is in the middle of a merger and things are not as they seem. When her life is put in danger, she only remembers that Harper Security was the place her best friend told her about. Kit is the first person she meets and boy, talk about perfection. He is the definition of an alpha male who stepped up and took care of Maxie with no questions. There was an instant attraction between the both of them and when he offers to be her fake boyfriend, that is where you fall even more in love with him. There was a chemistry between them that was there but with the forced proximity that happened just intensified the chemistry that was there. I thoroughly enjoyed the build-up to their relationship and when they did give in boy the sparks flew everywhere.
Ms. Evans once again delivers a storyline that is captivating, easy to love and impossible to put down. The Harper Security series is one that keeps getting better and better. I can't wait for the next installment in this series.

Silenced: Harper Security Ops, Book 10 by AK Evans is a terrific read that contains a mystery, intrigue, and a slow-burn romance that will singe your kindles or ears when listening to the audiobook. Troy Duran and Addison Barnes read the audiobook. Their voices drip with sensuality as the story unfolds. The audiobook brings the book Silenced to a whole new level of enjoyment.

Special guests from other books make cameos (My Violent Heart #Iamafan!) along with characters from other books. Suspense builds throughout Silenced as two pharmaceuticals are planning a merger. If sensitive information leaks before the merger occurs, it could be detrimental to the two companies as well as impact the public. Maxie was contacted by a co-worker about an issue that could put a kink in their company's upcoming merger. Maxie's life becomes upended when she discovers what her collogue accidentally ran across. Kit, who works at Harper Security, meets Maxi after being attacked during a home invasion that brought her a "whistle-blower" message she's not likely to forget. Kit of Harper's Security becomes assigned to protect Maxie, and their lives change as they get to know one another and uncover a love that lasts forever. A.K. Evans is a reader favorite for romance that always uplifts and highlights uniqueness through her characters with sensitivity.

Maxie is a homebody who isn't big on crowds, nor is she happy in the job she works as doing crafts is her happy place. She minds her own business, and maybe that's why a woman she works with felt confident in trying to talk to her about something she got caught up in. Little does Maxie know what is down the road with that conversation. She starts to worry when the coworker disappears, and it is because of that disappearance that had her caught up in the crosshairs of something dangerous. It's that danger that comes to her doorstep that had her at Harper Security Ops, and face to face with Kit. He ends up being her protection so he's with her around the clock, and it doesn't take long before things are happening as they're in close quarters with sparks flying. Of course with the trouble she's found herself in, there are twists coming in hot as Kit & his team try to figure out what is really going on while keeping me guessing, plus it's nice to be back with the couples of Harper Security Ops to see what they're up to. I'm ALWAYS ready for the next book as soon as I finish the current book, and nothing has changed about that so I CANNOT WAIT for the next book! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Sweet and sassy with a hint of danger and intrigue, add in a perfect slow burn instant attract storyline, and once again, A K Evans delivers another mouthwatering instalment in the Harper Security Ops series.

You can't help but fall instantly in love with sweet Maxie, she lives a quiet life and works as an accountant for a job she hates when her real passion is making Wreaths, but they don't pay the bills, so every day she puts on a smile and sits at her desk, but Maxie's life is about to take on a dangerous turn when her co-worker goes missing after trying to tell Maxie something isn't right about the impending take over of their company, when danger strikes Maxie ends up under the watchful eye of Kit a bodyguard within the Harper organisation, sparks fly from the start and while Kit is tasked to keep Maxie safe the couple get to know each other and Kit slowly draws Maxie out of her shell.

Silenced is a wonderful slow-burn romance, one that kept me entertained from the start, the suspense element is another good one to add to the other excellent ones already in the series, a great storyline, wonderful characters and a series that keeps getting better and better.

3.5 Stars-Something about this one…

In Silenced, A.K. Evans gives readers some romance and some suspense with Kit and Maxie. I’m gonna say, I had a hard time with the name Maxie, it rubbed me the wrong way from the get-go.

Maxie finds herself in a precarious situation at work and just as quickly, finds herself in the arms of Kit, a member of the Harper Security Ops team. Maxie learned some sensitive information about a company merger and when someone goes missing, she’s warned she’s next. Her friend told her about Harper Security and that’s how she meets Kit.

While I have read and enjoyed several of the Harper Security Ops books, there was something about this one that I wasn’t connecting with. I liked Kit and Maxie, however, didn’t feel they had much chemistry. That on top of the insta-love, made the romance part of the storyline does not work for me. That said, I did like the angst with the work situation, even if it was cleared up quickly.

The book is well written and not my cup of tea. I enjoyed that all the previous Harper Ops team members were present and accounted for. Silenced reads well as a standalone.

Maxie and Kit's story was great! The Harper Security Ops men keep finding women that test their strength in patience, as well as their ability to not be and Alpha hole that demands that they obey their every request.

Maxie is a kind, quiet, woman that keeps to herself and enjoys being alone more than being out in public, but when her life is in danger, her entire world changes and her views on being alone all the time change as well. When Kit steps up and offers to help her, her mind starts to doubt all that she is seeing and she wonders if any of it is real.

Kit is ready for some down time and enjoying the fact that their lives at Harper Security Ops has been quiet and slow, but when he returns with his lunch one afternoon and finds a young woman in need of help, he's all for stepping up and being the Knight in Shining Armor that she needs. Kit is entranced by Maxie and her quirkiness as well as her beauty and crafty knowledge.

I loved this book and can't wait for more stories with the remaining guys that are single. I love the men of Harper Security Ops and the women that they find to protect for life.

There is just something about the Harper Security Ops team that I can not stay away from. And Silenced, the latest addition, the steam and suspense continued. Plus catching up with the rest of the team is always a treat.

When Maxie found herself caught in the middle of a scandal, it was Kit who helped her, after she helped herself. But it was the fear of what might come next that made her keep him close. It didn't hurt that he was a good guy and easy on the eyes. But it was the way he soothed her nerves and calmed her fears and encouraged her dreams that allowed her to open up and let him in.

Nothing like a little forced proximity and danger to bring true feelings to the surface. I have to admit that there were a few times I found myself wanting more of the connection between Maxie and Kit, there was no denying that they were it for each other.

And just when they thought they had found some new sense of normal, everything took a turn. My heart was pumping as everything played out in seemingly slow motion. Whew! Talk about a wild and twisted ride. I can't wait to see what A.K. Evans has in store for this team next.

Another great story done by Troy Duran and Addison Barnes! I absolutely love to hear Troy narrate a book and how he takes on the character’s role is just incredible! Addison does just as good! Putting them both together on this one, amazing!!!

Book 10 of the Harper Security Op’s Series by A. K. Evans, Silenced is just as powerful as the books that come before! While these can all be read as individual books and each have their own HEA, you would enjoy them more if you read them in order simply to catch the overlapping characters and their stories!
Silenced brings us Kit and Maxie.
Maxie finds herself in trouble and doesn’t even understand why someone is after her but finding herself being kidnapped from her home and freeing herself, she flags down an older couple that drives her into town, to Harper Security for help.
Kit sees the distraught woman and is instantly drawn to her. Hearing her story, he vows to keep her safe and get to the bottom of the reason she is in danger.

Kit and Maxie has an instant attraction to one another and being surrounded with each other for weeks at a time, only caused it to intensify!

Maxwell aka Maxie is just treading water at her job. She's...content. She'll never set the world alight but she makes enough to keep a roof over her head. But when her colleague goes missing after telling her something was rotten at work, Maxie is getting a lot more excitement than she's used to.

Kit is in the right place at the right time when two good Samaritans bring an escaped Maxie to Harper Security. Now he's put himself on bodyguard duty until her captors are found. But to make his proximity seem viable and allow him to stay close they are going to have to pretend to be dating!

Maxie was independent and smart and unique in her outlook but with Kit she feels that maybe she can want more and is deserving of it. Kit I think was the shot in the self-esteem that Maxie needed. Her friends and family have told her to make something of her craftwork but she always just thought they were supporting her dream cause they were family. With Kit, he's a neutral party and she starts to believe in herself more.

I could have used a bit more suspense/mystery to add to the great romance but I still really enjoyed the story and am awaiting the next in the series!

Book 10 of the Harper Security Series. While these books could be read as standalone, I do recommend reading in order since characters do overlap some.

Maxie is an accountant at a pharmaceutical company, but is quite the introvert in her personal life. She enjoys staying home and keeping to herself. When a coworker asks to speak to her about something, but disappears before they are able to meet up, Maxie gets pulled into the middle of work secrets. Maxie becomes a target and turns to a place she hopes will keep her safe.

Kit, at Harper Security, is determined to make sure Maxie is taken care of and kept safe. Close proximity bring these two closer with each passing day.

Maxie is anxious to visit family without them knowing the details of things that have been going on. Kit isn’t up for leaving her unprotected. Can these two pull off a fake relationship in order to keep her family from learning the truth?

Both narrators did a fantastic job! I could listen to these two together many more times. I highly recommend! I have yet to be disappointed by any of the narrators in this series. Looking forward to book 11!

This is the tenth book in this series. They can be read as standalone books. I haven’t read all of them and I’m not lost or confused. Maxie is approached by a coworker about something she found. Then the coworker goes missing and Maxie is asked to do her job. Maxie finds out what the coworker knew and is threatened as well. Which leads her to Harper Security Ops and Kit. One look and Kit knows he will do whatever this woman needs him to. He will be protecting her personally. The two dance around each other for a bit unsure how the other felt. Then they give in. Everything is going great until things at Maxie’s job come out. Will Kit be able to protect her and will they find a way to get her? This book was a wonderful read. Not as much action as some of the other books in this series. But I liked the dynamic between Kit and Maxie. Maxie is a home body and Kit brings her out of her shell. Kit is a perfect match for Maxie. I really enjoyed this book. Great job A.K. Evans. I look forward to more books in this series.

Maxie/Maxwell Oliver works in accounting for a pharmaceutical company that is about to merge with another pharmaceutical company. She keeps to herself and avoids conflicts . When a co-worker sees some sensitive information that may hinder the merger and Maxie realizes there truly is an issue she believes it needs to be brought up. From that point on, things get dangerous. Her friend disappears and Maxie is attacked and left a message .
To protect her, Harper Security assigns Kit Sexton is assigned to her. Feelings develop, but first, Kit must keep Harper safe.
The plot was engaging and the characters likable. Characters from other stories make an appearance. That said, for those like me that have only listened/read one or two stories, at times I felt I was missing information of the interrelationships.
Still, it was a very entertaining audiobook which was brought to life by Troy Duran and Addison Barnes.
I was entrusted a copy of this audiobook. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Silenced (Harper Security Ops 10)

This is the tenth book in this amazing series and these books are just so gripping. This is the story of Maxie and Kit, these two characters have so much chemistry between them, I'm surprised the pages didn't set alight as I read. This story is full of action, angst, suspense, and of course plenty of hot and steam scenes. Once you start this book you won't want to put this book down, it is such a gripping read from start to finish. The characters and the story just suck you in and you are hooked from the first page. This is an amazing addition to this already amazing series of books.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book, and this is my honest review.

How did we already get to book 10 in this series. This book starts with the usual worry and fear. Maxi discovers something that others would prefer stays hidden.

Life can change in the blink of an eye. Maxie usually kept to herself, but when stress and tension became too much for her in the workplace, she let slip some information that she should have kept to herself. When she finds herself needing help, she turns to Harper Security Ops. From the moment Kit set eyes on Maxie, he knew he had to help her. Kit took his security/bodyguard job seriously. He was professional and observant. Spending 24/7 with Maxie started a friendship of sorts with feelings that were heightened with each passing day. For both of them. There was a bit of fake relationship going on, lots of forced proximity, soooo much slow burn tension, and lots of mutual respect and understanding. Addison Barnes and Troy Duran did a stellar job of narrating the characters and this story. They kept me hooked!

I received a complimentary copy of this book at my request and voluntarily left this review.

Audio review:
Maxie's just a regular girl not looking for trouble when a missing co worker brings it right to her doorsteps. Literally. Thrown into a dangerous situation she knew nothing about, Maxie finds herself in danger, kidnapped, and thankful to be alive albeit injured. Her troubles see her rescued by a sweet older couple and delivered to Harper Security Ops, right into the arms of Kit. Their mutual attraction is instant, and just like we know these Harper Security Ops men do, Kit goes right into alpha male protective mode. While things quiet down for a a few weeks the sparks between Maxie and Kit fly and they are soon falling in love. Only danger is still on the horizon and Kit has to protect the woman he loves from a deadly fate. Kit's devotion and protection of Maxie is swoon worthy. Their HEA was perfect for this sweet and sexy couple. I absolutely love Tony Duran and Addison Barnes narrating Kit an Maxie.

This book switched up the rhythm of the series. I've loved all the stories but they followed a very similar pattern. Silenced broke away from that with more intrigue and a background investigation
.
Maxie is a loveable character. She is hardworking and a homebody. When she finds herself embroiled in a workplace whistleblowing scandal, her life is placed in danger. She just wants the best out of the situation and is concerned for her friend. It is out of desperation she turns to Harper Security and coincidental that she meets Kit.

This is a detailed slow burn with these two getting to know each other for 2/3 of the book in a personal protection situation. Kit is kind, protective and devoted to Maxie. And these two are in love long before they even realise it and it is an adorable love story.

I loved this book. If you want to know about the plot, read the description. if you want an honest review, keep reading. I loved Maxie and Kit. This is book 10 in the series but it can be read as a stand alone. The employees of Harper Security Inc always seem to find themselves in a bit of a bind. Kit is used to protecting people and can remain emotionally unattached while doing his job. However when he meets Maxie, the lines definitely get blurred for him. Although he has to pretend to be with her for her safety he definitely realizes he stopped pretending a long time ago. Maxie and Kit have to navigate around their feelings while trying to keep safe and solve why someone is after Maxie. This was a very enjoyable read and I can't wait until the next installment. I have to learn to read slower because I devourer Andrea's books in a day!

Title: Silenced
Author: A.K. Evans
Format: ebook
Genre: Romantic Suspense, Bodyguard
Standalone: yes
Part of a Series: Harper Security Ops book 10
POV: Maxie, Kit
Steam Level: slow burn to steamy
5/5

Silenced is the 10th book in the Harper Security Ops book. Each book is a standalone with reoccurring side characters. In Silenced Maxie goes to Harper Security after being kidnapped and threatened to keep quiet about something she knows. Kit works in the bodyguard division and became her security. I live how these two seemingly opposite people cane together to become a great couple. Kit was supportive, encouraging and caring while allowing Maxie to remain independent. Overall this book was a lot of fun.

I received an advanced copy of this book for free. This is my honest and voluntary review.
