This is a beautiful book. The pictures are bright and very informative before you even start reading the captions or pages. Fast and easy reading with great projects for the crafty or DIYers. Only problem I find is that 501 projects at $100.00 each means $50,000.00 if you like them all. LOL. I like a lot of the projects.
I was gravitated towards the book because of the cover (I know!) I thought it would have a ton of ideas for larger projects like the furniture shown. Instead, most of the ideas were for decorative DIY accessories that are easily found on Pinterest or Tumblr.
I loved the photos and there were a lot of great ideas that I want to remember...got this book from the library, going to see about buying a copy for myself.
Tons of fun, cheap decorating ideas that you might actually want in your home! Many incorporate flea market finds (yeah!) and a liberal dose of crafting. Cute and inspiring.
Includes lots of cute and clever "Now why didn't I think of that?" ideas. Some might not be suitable for households with small children and curious animals.
I found some interesting ideas, but there were a lot of things I could see my cats wouldn't allow. I also found myself thinking, "who the heck would do that?" to many things.
It was hard for me decide on what rating to give this book. Pros: - There are many, many ideas for decorating ideas - The ideas would not cost too much to do - Decorating tips for "cottage style" - Lots of tips for decorating with upcycled or vintage items Cons: - This is really personal, but for me, I only found a few of the projects worth doing. - Too many projects add to the clutter of the home unnecessarily. I'm all for creative decor, and I like upcycling. But I felt too often, instead of taking "this" to "that", some projects just confused me. Why take game pieces and display them in jars? This only contributes to more visual clutter. Another project, a "recipe holder" attaches clothespins to vintage potato mashers or meat tenderizers. Frankly, I don't see anyone using such a devise for holding a recipe while actually cooking, although, admittedly, it looks sort of interesting.
So, I think this is a book that's definitely worth checking out, but for me, it's not a "keeper".
