Great introduction to this important date...not too violent for young children. This is the kind of book that will help children get a foundational understanding of events; as they get older they can move on and get much more detailed information. I often feel that we have forgotten the sacrifice members f the military have made for us all; this book is a good reminded that freedom comes with a cost that is often paid by a small percentage of our population.

The Attack on Pearl Harbor by Jane Sutcliffe is a digital book that I choose to read from the Capstone Library. The story goes in depth about what happened on the day Pearl Harbor was attacked by Japan. It gives facts such as who the U.S. commanders were on this day, as well as some of the Japanese plans for the attack. Because this is a graphic novel, there is a lot of dialogue between soldiers and officers. I really liked how the Capstone Library program had the option of reading the story to you. While the program reads the story it highlights the words that are being read in yellow so young children can easily follow along. This book would be good for children grades k-3. Children interested in the history of Pearl Harbor would enjoy reading this book because the author writes about the attack on Pearl Harbor in a story-like fashion to hold the interest of young children. This book is from the Capstone Library.

I loved this book. The reason I am putting this book on my bookshelf now, is because today is December 7th. 74 years ago, Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. This is the perfect book for WWII enthusiasts. I have read it many times, and I enjoy it a lot. This book offers, much information, and action. Also with light moments of comedy. If I were you, I would find this book, and read it.

I really liked how they included real stories of heroism in this, and kept the graphic nature of the attack to a minimum.

My one complaint with this one was having one of the guys saying "Oh my g-d"...which I blacked out with Sharpie. Really unnecessary, so be aware. That's also why I read all of these before letting the kids get ahold of them.

->Look him up: despite being a cook he acted the part of rescuer and turreted machine gun defense (despite never being trained to use it) on his ship while it was being fiercely attacked by air.

The Attack on Pearl Harbor is a graphic novel that takes readers through the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I great feature that I liked in this graphic novel was the “more about Pearl Harbor” information at the end of the book. The resources provide a more historical fact based position, and I think this greatly compliments the story. The illustrations are vibrant, as several colors stand out, keeping the reading active throughout. I would recommend this book for middle school to early high school students. It would be best implemented during instruction on World War II.

This book is about the bombing of pearl harbor. The genre is a non-fiction graphic novel. I know this because the bombing of Pearl Harbor was a real point in history. This book describes why the Japanese wanted to bomb us, and that all the warnings we got from Washington, we thought were false alarms. This book describes what happened in graphic novel form.

If you have a youngster who is interested in World War II then this is a nice graphic novel to get for them. The illustrations are bold and entertaining. Not meant as an actual resource book but more as an entertaining read.
