Pretty solid overview of the battles of the second world war. My only issue is that the pacific war seemed to get short shrift. Three quarters of the book are dedicated to Europe, one quarter to the Pacific (including India). While the start of the war in Europe is followed very closely, there is no mention of Japan's initial invasions of China. And while the author does touch on all of the major battles in the Pacific, noting how difficult and costly it was for the U.S., he failed to mention the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which ultimately ended the war, and whose decision was based on the experiences of soldiers in the Pacific.

Campaigns of World War II Day-By-Day is a fantastic read to get the basic information and idea of the major campaigns of the war in the North African, Med, ETO, CBI, Atlantic and Pacific. While it is a comprehensive and very informative read, it is not truly day by day. This makes sense given the length of certain campaigns and battles, yet looking back there are many battle and campaigns I felt were missing days I thought to be important to mention. Overall though a quality book for any and all WW2 enthusiasts.

Although it covers a lot about WWII, but it lacks a good part of the important Pacific land and sea battles. Although it would be impossible to cover the whole WWII spectrum in one volume, this book is a good start for young students who would want to know more about the cataclysmic conflict.

Enjoying read that offers a different perspective from other WW2 books by as the title. Better than most coffee table books, but still lacking clarity in some of the battles. Some of the photos are new to me and offered an additional perspective.

Very well written with lot of details about the various campaigns that give hints as to why certain results came about.

An enjoyable, quick read. There are many typos, evidently due to having been rushed quickly to press. Significant factual errors don't overly detract from interesting, engaging format.
