I love this game. It has callbacks to everything else in the serie so that whatever the outcome is people would have been happy I think. It's exactly what I'm here for and I eat it up every time. I know there is still three more books but to me this is the end and the next three books are just a bonus.

Eyeshield 21: The Last of the Deimon Devilbats continues where the previous tankōbon left off and contains the next ten chapters (296–305) of the on-going manga series.

The tankōbon concludes the Christmas Bowl match between the Deimon Devil Bats and the Teikoku Alexanders. Sena Kobayakawa finally figured out a way around Takeru Yamato of the Alexanders and scored a touchdown with a two-point conversion. With four and a half minutes left, the Devil Bats gets a safety, which adds two more points to the Devil Bats (34–41).

However, with one minute left on the clock, the Teikoku Alexanders made a punt, scoring three points and increased their lead by ten points. Things seems dire for the Devil Bats, but they are not going to give up that easily and with three seconds left on the clock, Sena Kobayakawa managed another touchdown and two-point conversion closing the gap by two points. With their last play, the Deimon Devil Bats decided for a punt – a sixty-yard punt.

The tankōbon closes with Sena Kobayakawa and Taro "Monta" Raimon being invited for a Japanese National Youth Team – as the American Football Youth World Cup has been announced.

This tankōbon is written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Yusuke Murata. For the most part, I really liked how the story is progressing. I was quite surprised that an international tournament was announced, but it made some sense – after winning the Nationals, the next logically place to go is international. However, not every person from the Devil Bats would be invited to join the team, as Japan could select the best players in the nation.

All in all, Eyeshield 21: The Last of the Deimon Devilbats is a wonderful continuation to a series that seems intriguing and I cannot wait to read more.
