All I say about the book is that it's just a self edifying effort of the author. I regret choosing the book. I wonder if the book would be published had it not been his own publishing house. He was trying to create a mass hero out of himself. I wonder if he has anything apart from sex on his mind. I guess he spared no place for his amorous adventures - ED hall, room, train, bathroom, terrace and finally tried it on hospital bed perhaps.
He claims that his story is a true story. But every page of the book says that it's a lie. I really hate writing bad reviews, but this book is really really bad. Wish I forget the experience soon. I request the Goodreads to let us give zero stars which I would like to award this book.

Crap. I wasted my 5-6 hours.
The writer lacks maturity and imagination. He tries hard to grasp the attention by writing erotic scenes that don't go well with the situation. Again, the book is full of technical errors. In starting he implies that the protagonist, Samar Garg is senior of other lead character, Kanika Merchant. Whereas in one scene he writes "...sitting, in the lecture hall right next to kanika ...".
I seriously doubt if he is a MDI alumnus.

the book was okay. nothing much as anticipated. The author has hackneyed the term "as if". The story-line is average.
I liked the starting of the book in which he describes himself. It was good and the flow was getting better but the end ruined it all. In fact, the end could have been much better. The readers expect a story not a biography. My rating 2/5. better luck next time Mr. Garg.

before buying I thought, it will be a good romantic story.
but the book totally let me down. there is nothing in this book that could be appreciated.And Sachin garg stands way too behind in the long queue of Chetan Bhagat era writers.

I was probably expecting a lot from this one (given that I had liked the other one from the author pretty much), then again, this one really didn't made me feel much...
There were few really nice parts in between...there were a couple of bad editing evident there...but the major drawback for sure was that it was incomplete...Sachin sure is trying something new by penning one year at a time, but still, it feels like you have seen the first episode of a serial and have to wait for second (I still won't have to wait much as the other part is coming in Feb itself), but for me...a novel should be complete...a movie in itself...and then if it's successful, it's sequel should come...

First of all, there is no relation between title and story. It just a typical story that happen in everyday life of college guy, nothing great nothing worst, you can read this book for just time pass. There is no problem with narration, was good, but few parts seems little boring, you need to push yourself to move forward. means not page turning.

I had heard a lot of things about Sachin Garg – mostly very good. So when the opportunity to review his books presented itself, I grabbed at it with both hands.
It’s First Love… is the story of five people and how they end up transforming completely over a period of a year.

I must confess that a village of characters is not my idea of a perfect setting. But it was nice to see that the story stuck to its original theme, and basically revolved around Sachin and Kanika, the protagonists.
Sachin lives alone in a small apartment. His best friend Arshi, who is a Roadies contestant, asks Sachin to pick his friend Kanika from airport who is coming to Delhi from Mumbai to attend college. At first, Sachin is irritated but then he suddenly has this urge to meet Kanika. They are stuck in traffic and Arshi informs him Kanika is coming with someone she met on her flight. Sachin is heartbroken.
Eventually they do meet and Sachin realizes that despite being the daughter of a divorced couple, Kanika Merchant is full of life and a fireball of energy. Our Sachin falls hard and fast, and they soon become good friends. Kanika, however, is already in a relationship with Neil (the guy she met on her flight). Sachin is very insecure because he has a wild crush on Kanika.
Predictably, it turns out that Neil is an asshole who was cheating on her, and Sachin’s way is clear.
The story then revolves around their love life, how they had to face tragedy in their lives and how they finally get back together.
My favourite part of the story was where Sachin writes poetry for Kanika, which was really really endearing but he was so ashamed that he wouldn’t even confess. Right till the last page, I kept hoping that Kanika would somehow get to know that Sachin wrote it for her. But nothing happened; she didn’t even know it was for her. But the lines he wrote were really well. Nice work there.
Although I didn’t like the story line and the writing style (more on that later) there were still some good parts. The characterization was very well done: they weren’t perfect, but ordinary people with common flaws – somebody you could relate to. Sachin Garg, who was isn’t very nice looking but was very sweet and anyone would love to have him.
The worst part was the editing. There were times I wanted to tear my hair off. In addition to the dear old grammatical mistakes, his way of framing sentences wasn’t good at all. The story is occurring in the past, but still there were lines which were written in the present tense. And then there were lines which didn’t make any sense at all. Like: instead of “I’ve got it settled” it was “I’ve got it a settled”.
Also, while the book is classified under the romance genre, it often comes across as cheesy. And I could have done without all the sexual references. They weren’t really needed.
I think the author is quite young but possesses a lot of talent. With some hard work, he should be able to give us something better next time.

The book was ok.A tale that every college guy can relate to.Infact its a tale that every college student can pen down by himself.Such an easy and simple narration yet vivid.Sachin is a fair guy who falls in love with Kanika who falls in love with Niel.Sachin's friend Arshi loves Sachin and Zeeshan loves Kanika as well! Now that is a real mess and the story proceeds on how Sachin wins Kanika's heart.The only valuable part of this book is when Kanika's mother,Radhika dies of AIDS.The author has beautifully created an awareness about how AIDS can affect you even through infected syringes.
The rest of the story is as usual.Lots of romantic moments are shared between the characters.Zeeshan is showed as a bright guy who fails in love and hence hates life.Kanika is unable to decide on her future - a pretty indecisive girl.Arshi is a modern city girl, Niel - a modern city guy.The author has portrayed characters you see around you everyday.
Nothing so special about the story.Just a good read for a lazy day.

People say "Don't judge a book by its cover". But to be fact, the thing attracted me to the book is its title. And the search for its meaning which keeps me reading the book. The title has a minus too, it helps us guess the ending well before the climax.
Book started as a story of the boy next door, Radhika Aunty added some interest to the story line. The rest keeps me reading but not much interested. The propose by Samar is romantic. Somewhere the story line lacks logic. Like Samar and Kanika, once been in relationship, after some break, Kanika is reacting as if Samar is proposing her for 1st time.

I bought book bby its TITLE,
but it is not as good as title is.
it is just a common story and i also think that SACHIN must do homework for this,
nothing special in this book except TITLE,
When i bought this, i was connected with it, but after 50 pages goes, i just OOOOOOOooooooooo.

The book was good by parts. It starts more interesting, in the middle very boring and in the end ok.

Well.. The author has conveyed his own love story in a veryyy simple manner nd interesting manner..!!! Bt wats special abt the story.. Js a damn dramatic love.. Asuaually.. I can't even suggest this story to my frndsss.... Even if I do so.. They'll surely ask wrs the story..???? Honestly I love his way of narration Bt the storyyy!!!!!!!!

Part 2 : Zeeshan develops crush on Kanika. Neil wants to get back with Kanika. Sachin and Kanika are on a break.
Part 3 : Kanika rejects Zeeshan. Kanika rejects Neil. Kanika refuses Sachin and then rejoins.. Tada...! That's the climax!

The first half of the book was extremely boring and damn predictable.
The second half was somehow interesting and really very emotional which left teardrops in the corners of my eyes.

A nice read. College romance with its ups and downs. Protagonist is very easy going modern guy, living a flat alone with good looking girls all around... Sparks are sure to fly.

There are a lot of college life love stories out there.
It's First Love!...Just Like The Last One is one of them. Nothing great about this story. Actually we all have this kind of stories in our lives.

Chetan bhagat has prompted all youngsters to be authors. Everyone is writing their biography as a novel. One girl one love and some **** will be there in the novel...sometimes it fells to be really irritating to read this types of novels.

This story from one of these new crops of current writers, felt like an instant Maggie, tasty in the begining on hungry stomach, tolerable in the middle, as you had your fill & then little exasperating (if not downright difficult) by the end to finish the final ration. It's a simple lovestory of college going guy & gal told in their young emotions & language. Arshi likes Samar, Samar liked Kanika & Kanika likes Niel in the begining. You think the plot is getting young & interesting with love triangle. But then suddenly the Arshi, was made to go away to Australia abruptly by this author & hence removed from the plot. Hence, from the starting itself, it mainly becomes the story of Samar & Kanika's romance with this Zeeshan & Niel thrown in between the plot like spices. There goes along with it, the brief woven track of Kanika 's family background of her famous, TV journalist mother with AIDS. I think the story ending could have been much better than the tried & tested version. But the author says it's his own story in 20s. & then it was written in simple straight language without any ado. So 3 stars.

This had been on my shelves for years and I'm glad that I finally read it. Mediocre writing, mediocre story with one-dimensional characters. I think I would've liked this in 8th when I read most of my Indian New Adult romances. Whatever.
