Talk about the dream handyman!! *Drools* LOOK AT THAT COVER!
I'm contemplating breaking shit in my house just to see if I can find a handyman like the strong as steel Buck.
I'm even feeling poetic. There are a whole heap of rhymes going through my head involving the name 'Buck' and what I would like to do to him.
Sweet Caroline was another scorcher from Lissa Matthews. A whole heap of explicit bedroom action that will leave you sweating and panting with need.
Caroline was the older, divorced protagonist who had a thing for BDSM. Her ex-husband had treated her badly, cheating and involving himself in sexual acts that Caroline didn't agree with. So to state it simply, he was a total tool and she was wary of men because of it.
Buck was her sexy, chiseled to perfection, handyman. Normally he doesn't do personal handyman work - he's a very successful owner of a contracting company - but the offer to help Caroline meant he could be a hell of a lot closer to her with a legitimate excuse.
And he was definitely a HELL of a lot closer.
In typical Lissa style it was 80% sexed up hotness with 20% storyline. Exactly what us hardcore erotic fans salivate over.

I won this ebook from a fellow blogger and I am glad I did. I was very impressed with Lissa writing style as a matter a fact I loved it. As most of you know I have to have the right type of BDSM book or I will not like it one bit. This one was just wonderful to read. The connection and chemistry these to characters has is sizzling hot. You get floggers, clamps, anal play, all kinds of toys along with some scorching hot sex yummy with cheesecake that’s not to be missed. Don’t even let me start in on all the different sexual positions, especially the one with the sawhorse. I want to also add this is on the light BDSM. The story is about 88 pgs, so I will be brief and try not to give out to much.
There is life after divorce and Caroline is going to be able to experience just that. When she is shopping in Lowes she comes across a man named Buck to work on her house. As the months goes by she also finds an attraction and when he comes in on her while she is in a adult store and finds her looking at the clamps, well I will just say things really heats up. This was a fun, incredibly HOT book!! Typical Lissa Matthews! I have yet to read a LM book I didn't love and this one is no exception. A story of a woman finding herself after a divorce with a hunky 'handyman'!! Heartwarming and fun,with a little light BDSM thrown in. :) - I high;y recommend and hope y'all enjoy!

I do not judge short stories on the rush of their relationships, because they are just that - short stories. So, yes the relationships always could have been drawn out more, yea it seems like they fall in love to fast and of course the story could have been made longer... but it is a short story. So with that said.... here is my review...
Okay first, I want to say that I want Buck! Wooweee!!!! The man is pure sex on a stick. He is all sorts of wicked, absolutely delicious yumminess.
This is one rockin' story. Spicy, hard, fast, hot and heavy, are a few words I would use to describe just a part of this book. Yeah, you read right... this does not even touch the whole story ~ just part of the story.
Living in the house Caroline shared with her ex, it was decided to be in the best interest of all to put it up for sale. But first, some home repairs are needed. This is where Buck comes in the picture. Oh man.. and he sure can fix'er up... Oh I meant the house ~ yeah right! =)
Caroline is in need of home repairs. She finds herself wondering around the local home improvement store. Looking a bit confused, Buck offers her his help. Little did Ms. Caroline know that Buck is not just a simple handy man... He owns his own contracting business. But in order to get a little closer to Caroline, he will play along with anything she wants.
Oh one note I forgot to mention... Buck is younger than Caroline!! Can you say C-O-U-G-A-R!!! Oh yeah! Holla!
I immediately fell in love with Caroline. She is as real as real can get. Once married, now divorced and seeking to be her own person. She is discovering things and exploring things that she learned with her ex husband. Another thing I love about her is that even though her ex is an ass (a complete ass - even comes with his own jerk stick) and her marriage was not all that great, she took what she liked about that relationship and carried it forward. That shows me a real woman. And that she was comfortable with herself to explore the things she does, really shows me a woman who is comfortable in her own skin.
Buck is a walking wet dream. Hot, hard and easy to please. He loves to dish out just as much as he likes to receive. But there is something about him: strong, dominating but not in an asshole kinda way. His love is not easily given out like candy... although you wanna talk about candy, his dish is cheesecake and oh what that man can do with that! He has a side of him that is soft, warm and tender. He wants out of life - the wife, the house, the you and me but is a little scare to admit it. But the one thing that he is ready to admit is that Sweet Caroline makes him hot and he wants her ~ more than anyone else in the world.
There attraction is a like a firecracker - instant, hot and sparks fly everywhere! Now when you read the story, you may see that the "groove" factor is kinda quick... but you have to keep in mind that they knew each other already... way before you (the reader) entered the picture, so give some credit... and this book is roughly a little over 80 pages long. So... make sure you cut that some slack when you read it.
Now back to them... and their story... oh man oh man oh sweet hail mary man. Ms. Lissa rocked this story out.
This story touched me in more ways that I think I really care to admit. Caroline is a 40 yr old woman who is finding herself after a failed marriage. Been there, done that.. yea - have the tee shirt to prove it. She is not a small woman; no size 0 for her (can I get an AMEN). She has a career, she has plans, dreams, goals and what I love most - self worth. Ms. Lissa pens her character with so much "real" factor that I can see Caroline being one of my girl friends. (Yea, I am secretly wanting my handy man to be BUCK) Caroline is a woman who is just trying to discover herself after being told who and what she would be for so many years by an ass who just wanted to f*ck. Buck enters the picture and yes, he is a dominate... but he pulls at my heart strings.. why because he allows Caroline the room to grow, he relishes in watching her grow into herself. What I love most about this story is Caroline's backbone!!! YOU GO GIRL!! You will see why... A hint.. have you ever seen the heroine leave the hero... and not go back to him...?? There are choices to be made, love to be shares... and a whole slue of toys to be played with. This is an awesome story of one woman finding herself... all of herself. There is no stone left unturned in this story.
My only little disappointment is that there apparently was a meeting of Caroline and Buck earlier that was never mentioned. I would have love to known how they truly met and what first impressions were. Other than that... this book freaking rocked apples (Leontine ~ just for you hon)!!!
So with all of this... I urge you to go now... and get your own copy... If not.. that just means that Buck is all mine, hee heeeeeeeee **insert evil laughter**

The hotness drips off the pages of this book like lava. Good Lord.....
Caroline is a 40 year old, recently divorced woman who is looking to sell her house and move to the mountains. While wandering through the a home improvement store, she encounters Buck. Buck is a contractor who normally doesn't do the kind of work that Caroline needs done....but he feels an attraction to her - so hey, why not. Things stay completely platonic until he runs into her in a sex shop. Here, the slightly shy Caroline boldly shows Buck what kind of things she likes - from clamps to whips to glass dildos. And thus their relationship begins.
The hot monkey sex starts out hot and continues to get even hotter....if that's possible. If you're not a fan of BDSM, I would suggest you skip this book.....because it does go there. A lot. But don't get me wrong. While there is a TON of sex in this book - there is a good storyline as well. Caroline's ex-husband got her interested in the lifestyle, but after years and years, the relationship eventually morphed into something Caroline didn't want. Swinging was always something they did.....but when the ex-husband started getting it on without Caroline's knowledge....well, it just started going downhill from there. Finally, she asked him to move out. It was this move that prompted Caroline to take a road trip that landed her in the mountains of Georgia, in what would soon be her new home. As soon as the repairs on her old home were made, that is, and she was able to sell it. The one thing she didn't factor into her new life was Buck - and falling in love with him.
Start reading this book for the hot sex....but keep reading it for the great characters you'll be introduced to here and in the other books in the series. I love Lissa's writing style and she sure as hell can write a hot scene. No doubt.

The day her ex-husband marries a much younger woman, Caroline decides to go out and get piercings. She also hires a contractor to do some work on her home before she places it on the market. When Buck arrives, Caroline learns that not only is Buck good with a saw and hammer, but with other tools as well. A casual fling is perfect for Caroline because in a couple months she’ll be selling her home and moving out of state. When her feelings for Buck cross over from considering him a casual fling to someone she cannot live without, her anxiety increases. Can the games they play turn into something lasting.
SWEET CAROLINE is a well-written story with interesting characters and steamy sexual scenes. Caroline, the heroine, goes on a compelling journey as she learns to let go of her inhibitions and realize she is still a beautiful, viable woman. SWEET CAROLINE kept me entertained and I never got bored or didn’t want to know what was going to happen next.
However, having said that, when I closed SWEET CAROLINE I had a hard time believing that Caroline and Buck could have a lasting relationship besides a short fling. I didn’t feel an emotional connection with either Caroline or Buck. To me, it missed that extra something that makes you think about Caroline or Buck beyond the last page. Despite my wishing for more, I was not disappointed with SWEET CAROLINE and would read the author again.
SWEET CAROLINE is a well-written story with interesting characters and steamy sexual scenes. Caroline, the heroine, goes on a compelling journey as she learns to let go of her inhibitions and realize she is still a beautiful, viable woman. SWEET CAROLINE kept me entertained and I never got bored or didn’t want to know what was going to happen next.
However, having said that, when I closed SWEET CAROLINE I had a hard time believing that Caroline and Buck could have a lasting relationship besides a short fling. I didn’t feel an emotional connection with either Caroline or Buck. To me, it missed that extra something that makes you think about Caroline or Buck beyond the last page. Sweet Caroline was not only a cheeky BDSM read, but it's also a beautiful romance that includes many complexities of life after divorce and starting anew. I enjoyed the read, and found I whizzed through this novella and was hooked to every single word. Yes. That's right. Not one single paragraph was skipped.
I thought Lissa portrayed the difficulties, and emotional issues that comes with having to deal with ones ex-husband, and his new girlfriend with ease -- plus, which recently divorced woman doesn't deserve a hot handy man who's very handy with his hands if you know what I mean?
Blue Jeans and Hard Hats has just become another series I'll be grabbing as soon as they hit the internet book shelves!

Caroline is a divorced older woman (40) in the middle of rebuilding her life. Her ex introduced her to the kinkier side of sex while they were married, and she loved, but had to give him up. Now alone, she finds in Buck(35), her handyman the dominant she wants and needs.
I liked this book. It was light, fun and hot.
The BDSM was more like a play than a real lifestyle to them. A bit cheesy (and not just on the cheesecake part), but it's a romance after all.
I liked the fact that Caroline wasn't a shy, ashamed kind of woman. She knew what she wanted, and went after (at least in sex). I also liked that the age difference wasn't a reason to make her a whining character. Buck is hot, hands off. The sex scenes (and the cover) are masturbation material... Just saying ;)

I was very impressed with this book. It was nice to see a BDSM that wasn't all Mr. Serious BDSM, but rather Mr. Fun BDSM. It was a great to see a different take on what BDSM could be like.
Buck is a fun character who is strong and dominant, but it doesn't make him an ass like it does in many stories. Caroline is a woman who is very confident with her sexuality - she knows what she likes! But she is not as confident in the rest of her life. She has had some not so great experiences thanks to her ex-husband.
Together they make the pages steam!
Lissa has put together a great book and I am very much looking forward to reading the second in the series - when it gets finished!!!!

A reread of a book I once read on Kindle very early on in the Kindle world—maybe 2010? It’s a light BDSM novella, without much of the darkness that later BDSM erotica became known for. And I enjoy that lightness here. Some sexy moments that it make it a pretty enjoyable read.

The book starts in an erotic store, Caroline having already met Buck and him starting to work for her, but neither has acted on their attraction, running into each other in the store gives Buck the impetus to do what he needs to. Have Caroline all to himself.
For those wondering about the sex scenes they are hot and heavy and something to get you hot under the collar or squirming in your seat. At 80 pages it is a perfect lunchtime read, just think about the fantasies you could have that afternoon!
I give 'Sweet Caroline' 4 frilly knickers out of 5, a definite damp panty read!

This was a really hot book. Hell, it opens up in an adult toy store! There was only one time that I had trouble other than a few editing issues, and that was picturing a particular sex scene. Beyond that, I loved this story, mostly because it felt so authentic and Lissa Matthews paints such a vivid picture that you feel like you could put yourself in the characters’ shoes.
I really enjoyed the playful exploration they endeavor and the way they discover more and more about each other in all aspects of their lives as they push to let the attraction and new respect and just everything blossom. I really felt so much for both characters. I hurt with Caroline, I blushed with, and as for Buck…he’s so caring and compassionate that it’s hard not to fall for him (not that you’d want to fight it anyway).
Another thing I appreciated was the demonstration of the age difference. I’m one of those that doesn’t care about age, and often in stories, even if there is an age difference, it’s not addressed much. Lissa doesn’t shy away from it, but shows you how the characters think of it and why it does or doesn’t matter to them. She also shows that you don’t have to be a perfect size 8 to be sexy, beautiful, and loved. Ultimately, just a really well written and great sexy story!
If you’re looking for some kink with your romance, look no further. Sweet Caroline is riveting from beginning to end you will be so engrossed that you won’t be able to put it down! Excellent novella!

I really enjoyed this book. It was a REALLY quick read, with LOTS of light BDSM sex. But more than that, there is a love story.
Caroline is a 40 year old divorcee who finally got strong and kicked her ex to the curb. They had a D/s relationship, but not a good one at all. Buck is the handyman hired to fix up her house before it goes on the market and she moves. Buck is actually a contractor who took the job just to get closer to Caroline. But when they meet in an erotic bookstore, the sparks really start to fly.
So they have great sex and a great connection. Worked for me as a quick read before "bed". ;-) Getting the next one now.

I read this book in one sitting. I loved Caroline, she was so real. She didn't simper, pout or spend a lot of time mourning over the past. Buck, knows what to do with Caroline's needs and he gives it to her, just the way she wants it. He is masterful with his Dom tendencies but not overbearing. It is a give and take between them and watching them learn to love each other was a wonderful way to spend my afternoon.

Usually I can make it through any erotica on the strength of the sex alone if that's what I'm in the mood for. Gotta say that here the sex was boring (covering mouth politely while I yawn). They were all so happy in their BDSMness. Somehow the sex seemed pretty vanilla and I'm thinking BDSM scenes should seem a bit more kinky that that. Older woman whose dom/husband let her for a sweet young thing finds love and etc., with a hot young stud/dom. The main couple just seemed so polite to each other they might as well have been baking cookies.

I finished this book for the sole reason of having a guilt free conscience. I have never "dropped" a book, but this one REALLY tempted me to do it.
The characters are just so MISMATCHED that it's not even funny. Not because of the age, people. There is simply NO CHEMISTRY, whatsoever, between them.
The author tried really hard to make some kind of plot for this book, but unfortunatley she failed (It's a plain stupid "plot" if you ask me).
All of the sex scenes were ok. Nothing out of this world hot. JUST ok.

Just did not connect with this book. Have been wanting to try this author, but ended up skimming about mid-way and dnf'ed shortly after. I have one other in my tbr so will be curious to see if I like that one better.

This book was okay for a quick read - I would've liked some more depth in the main characters though it seems the author was striving for it. And dare I say it *cringe*, there may have been too much sex in relation to the rest of the story line.
