Graphic novel that is based on one of S. E. Hinton's popular titles, Taming the Star Runner follows the story of Travis, who is the epitome of cool even when he's in trouble. But when he's sent to stay with his uncle on a ranch in the country, he finds that his schoolmates don't like his tough city ways. He does find a friend in Casey, who runs a riding school at the ranch. She's the bravest person Travis has ever met, and crazy enough to try to tame the Star Runner, her beautiful, wily horse who's always on edge, about to explode. But, it's clear to Travis that he and the Star Runner are two of a kind - creatures not meant to be tamed!

Born in Portsmouth, Virginia, and raised in Bergenfield, New Jersey. Smith lives in Bergen County, New Jersey, with his wife, Laura, and their three cats. His work has appeared in numerous comic books, newspapers, magazines and other comic book web sites.
When not writing. Smith pursues an interest in American history, Sherlock Holmes and a love of comic books and science fiction (particularly Doctor Who).

Don has written professionally for over 25 years with several articles, short stories and books to his credit. He is also a known horror and true-crime writer with a specific interest in history.

This book is an amazing book. You will know what has happened in a young boys life. The book is good for people that want to know if travises book get published and if Casey can tame the star runner. I give this book a 5 out of 10 because it starts off slow but then picks up from there.

so much, yet so little happened. i loved this book, but really did not like the transition between scenes of the book with very little context, as to what was going on.
