Llewellyn George started his publishing company in Portland, Oregon in 1901, concentrating Astrological books and annuals. In 1961, Carl L. Weschcke of St. Paul, Minnesota purchased the company and relocated it to the Midwest.
Llewellyn is the world’s oldest and largest independent publisher of books for body, mind, and spirit.
I enjoy the Llewellyn Magical Almanacs for the quick read essays. There are many authors, known and not-so-known who offer advice on different aspects on paganism, witchcraft, wicca, and other new age topics.
As an almanac, it is rather lacking. There is only 12 pages of monthly calendars with small print and symbols of what is happening during the month. I prefer using the Old Farmer's Almanac for this type of information or if I am looking for pagan or Wiccan information than I use Llewellyn's Spell A Day website.
Overall, I would purchase this almanac each year for the informative essays and quick look calendars.
