This book provided me with a perspective on how a semiconductor telecom startup transitions from zero to one. It was interesting to understand the challenges faced by Qualcomm and how they overcame them, particularly the criticism of CDMA and its business implications. I realized that, along with the technology, a trustworthy network of lawyers, regulators, policymakers, etc., is essential. Having a support system with you in the form of your family is equally important while running a business on such a large scale. Thankful to my dad for teaching me chess when I was a kid, business seems like a game of chess to some extent with the purpose of executing the vision of making world a better place :)

Neat Book, loved the intro narrative about Viterbi and Jacob’s and the technology primer. The stuff about Lamarr at the beginning was cool too. Gets very repetitive at the end and drags.

A readable if overly enthusiastic history of one of the most interesting technology businesses to have come out of California. Some of the lessons in strategy this book talks about would need book sized treatments of their own but this is a decent peek. Recommended for students of tech history and IP focused business strategy.

This book tells a history of Qualcomm from early founders to 2005. It documented the important events in Qualcomm's history. The reader will know how qualcomm becomes dominant in the CDMA market and how it redefines its business model.
