I enjoyed reading " Gutsy Girls:Young Women Who Dare" so much. It is about 25 young women between the ages of 14 and 24 who have demonstrated considerable mental and physical courage in pursuit of personal challenges. Their adventures range from physically daring, including skydiving and mountain climbing, to those that include public service, such as home building.
Each 6-to-10 page profile offers a personal narrative, brief biographical information, and two photographs. It is difficult to speak about the characterization in this book , because it's not about one exact person or her story. In addition, as said it is about 25 girls who were brave enough to reach unbelievable goals. They were trying different things, for example: skydiving, swimming, rock climbing what makes difficult to say where does the action exactly takes place. The book shows young women doing unusual hobbies, how they started out, and what they gained from the experiences.
The book shows that in life, nothing is really impossible if you try your best. Every gutsy girl has a courage and faith, which helps her make her wishes happen. The authors main message is to make us believe in yourselves and also, make us see that if you can dream it, you can do it.
Lastly, I would say that this book would interest people, like me,who love collecting inspirational quotes and stories, who are interested in another successful people. The ones who don't quit and never ever give up on something they really want. I would also recommend it to boys and girls who need motivation to begin new chapters in their lives or maybe continue fighting for their goals.
This book introduces us to 25 Young Women who are determined to challenge themselves, set goals, and passionate about what they want to set out and achieve. It follows their commitment to obtaining their dreams - from Kick Boxing, Surfing, Sky Diving, Drag Racing, etc. Australia's Susie Maroney also gets a mention. I like that these girls dream big, have achieved their dreams and some still following their dreams.
This book showed me how other people try hard and enjoy their interests and made me think about what I enjoy. The book had a lot of women that succeeded in sports and outside activities, which was amazing. All the information about how to explore is for people in America so I won't be able to try them, but this book definitely gave me ideas about new things I want to try.
I found this book sitting on a closed store doorstep late last night. I t seemed as tho it was a message, the funk I , and many ofthe women in my building. (I live in a women only place, it is beautiful building, faces the mountains across the straight. Roof top patio and all... but we need hope, and living in the poorest neighbourhood of canada, in the center of a open air drug market, treated as if everywoman is a prostitute. It gets to you sometimes... this book reminds us that beyond our short sometimes hard lives, there is a multiverse that is so beautiful and extrordinary... and that it runs on LOVE.
A good book about young women doing unusual hobbies (researching in Antarctica, school-building in Thailand, ect), how they started out, and what they gained from the experiences. Better yet, it tells interested young ladies how they, too, can start down these interesting roads. I like reading about doing fun things, but I like doing them even more!
Often times we hear about the amazing things that men and bouys have done, and there is nothing wrong with that, but, where are the amazing women? This book is full of the most fabulously incredible stories about the daring things that extraordinary women and girls have done and do. I LOVED THIS BOOK!
exciting female first person stories, loved it and it was truly inspirational. Loved the accounts at the beginning and then help to get fit yourself with training tips etc...3 part book really and very intriguing
This book had some really cool biographies and I enjoyed reading about experiences of girls following their dream, a couple including things like skydiving from helicopters 15,000 feet in the air, or swimming over a day straight without sleeping. It is amazing what girls in this book have done!
This book was touching and fun for all women. We are people and can do as much as men. I loved this book and reccomend it to anyone who likes to read. It was seriously that good.
