This book is the complete encyclopedia to animals. Reptiles, mammals, birds, bugs, fish cats, and even what they eat and where you can find them. they also go over their characteristics, like how their teeth help them eat. Then there's the cheetahs it goes over how fast it is and how the speed helps catch its prey. there are so many other animals in the encyclopedia as well.

I thought this book was a great one to have in your home or a classroom. There are a lot of words in it but it shows you animals of all sorts and gives a brief description and picture for each animal that is introduced. I think this is a good book to get children interested in the different kinds of animals around the world and it give them an opportunity to see how animals survive in the wild. Overall, I think this is a good book to introduce to kids in their elementary years.

As we begin our K2 Unit of Inquiry into Living Things, I've been turning my attention to non-fiction. We've stocked up on lots of encyclopedias this year, and while their content might appear a little complex for pre-readers, in fact children love the vivid photographs and opportunity to find things out. The Usborne Encyclopedia series is very child-friendly: a clearly set out contents list, vivid photographs, and interestingly laid sections that provide lots of information. Great stuff!

I loved this book! I want to have this in my home. It teaches so much about all of the animals and helps the kid explore each type. It's picture were excellent and I look forward to sharing the cool facts I learned from it. I love how it is set up and how it is not huge so it can be easily brought around to other places if needed. Amazing book and I love animals!
