Although this book is:

- Not particularly well written
- Not particularly concrete: a lot of it is very intuitively derived, or religiously dogmatic
- But every time you read it, you do reflect, and thus it is useful as a prompter for mindfulness and surrendering. Surely there are more optimal texts for this, however within my life it did serve its purpose.
- Some of my most interesting reflections came at the end, where the Master described his work at the monastery; coincided with my having spent 2 months in isolation on an island in Thailand, going back to basics.

Would not recommend as essential reading, but there are learnings to be had.

i've read and will re-read this whenever it is fit. it's all that's ever necessary in the present. the Dharma lectures within this book are different than any i've read anywhere else.
