Haunted Tennessee

Rate this book
Ghosts seem to be everywhere in Tennessee, from the bucolic small towns to the weathered historic districts of its metropolitan centers. Readers will encounter the spirits of the Battle of Shiloh, the Fiddlin' Snake Man of Johnson County, Andrew Jackson at the Hermitage, Hank Williams at Ryman Auditorium, and Elvis Presley at Graceland. Strange creatures are also featured, including Bigfoot, the famed Wampus Cat, and the legendary Bell Witch.

I love reading haunted books. This one I borrowed from the library when I saw it because my family and I moved to TN in 2021. I want to know all the cool haunted and other strange things that happened or happen in my new home state.

I see more haunted state books by this author that I'll have to see if my library has for me to read.

But this book has a lot of cool haunted places we will have to check out while living here.

Not the well-researched tome I was hoping for. Mostly vague unsubstantiated rumors being retold in a pleasant way.

I don't believe in ghosts but I like reading the history behind the stories. That being said, some of stories sent a chill down my back.

So many of these places are very close to us, AND THE greatest American ghost story, the Bell Witch, happens right here in Tennessee.

The book's title should be "Tall Tales for Third Graders", because that's exactly how it read.
