This book just wasn't applicable to me and my life. It would work better for someone who had more time and money. The coupon part suggests you need to spend quite a bit of money to save money, which I don't have. The online section would require far more time than I (as a full-time working mother and wife) have to spend checking multiple sites daily for freebies, surveys, and reviews. This would work far more from a stay-at-home mom who has children who take long naps or play independently for l ...more

I didn't give this one much of a chance. I think most of these savings tips would work better in a bigger household.

And I was a bit annoyed by this:

While public libraries do offer free access, this access is necessarily limited; there are time limits, and there are limits on what you can install and what you can do. If you only access the internet from a public location, you won't be able to do things like print out coupons, sell items effectively online, take timely advantage of deals, or oth

This very helpful book was written by a former librarian who lives in the Chicago area. The first half of the book focuses on ways to save using online resources, e.g., coupons, deal hunting sites, freebies, etc. and the second half focuses on ways to make money online, e.g., eBay, Etsy, Cafe Press, taking surveys, etc. The book is very comprehensive and up to date. The author makes the case for using these activities to supplement one's income and that these strategies together can be as good a ...more

Fairly standard advice, a lot of things I already knew. Covers couponing, buying online, easy online from home work, etc.

I found some interesting websites to check out through reading it, would recommend giving it a lookover at your library as I did and save your money for a more thorough and better indexed guide. Really wish they would've had a list of websites mentioned in the book - would've given it another star if it had included that.

Recommends it for: Those who are looking to earn extra income, stay at home moms and dads.
This book is fairly detailed in ways to make some extra money on the side. You clearly will not be

making a business out of just a few of these techniques, you will have to implement time, energy, and

a lot of marketing know-how. Overall Point, Click and Save puts all the information that is already

over the internet into one well constructed book, which allows for easy and quick access to making

more money online.

This is a great book, full of money saving tips. This would be really useful for a stay-at-home parent who is trying to save/make money for the family. I appreciate a lot of what she has to say. Of course I trust her, she's a librarian, after all!

Some helpful hints, lots of great websites to check out. But she is a bit too over the edge when it comes to couponing for me. However, her website is fabulous and so helpful - I have already printed coupons and gotten freebies from it. Skip the book and just go straight to mashupmom.com

If you love a good deal and can't bear to buy anything without a coupon (like me)you'll love this one.

I need to own this book. With the price of EVERY thing going up, up, up, spending a little time planning and plotting is well worth saving some moola.

There were some good ideas in the book, but a lot of them didn't apply to me or the area I'm living in. It made me think though.

Interesting read - a few years old so some websites mentioned are no longer updated.

Good ideas, but information is dated. Some of the websites and deals mentioned either no longer exist or have changed significantly.

Ensure that PDF coupons are legit (tend to be fraudulent); make sure it’s from the manufacturer’s website.
