The equivalent of a movie you love to catch no matter how many times youve seen it. The WEIRD series of books are one of the better options for any person looking to get a breezy, yet pretty wide spanning look at all the weird people, places, and things happen in your state.

WEIRD OREGON wont blow you away with a deep dive into any of its topics (that range from anything that is "weird" in the state) but the trio of writers here cover a lot of ground and topics in succint yet enjoyable ways that you dont really need to get lost in the details to enjoy all the strange things you can find in Oregon. If theres one thing i can never fully jive with in these books, its the illustrations that usually leave a lot to be desired (though, due to their rough look, some of these pictures can turn out to be unintentionally unsettling).

Nevertheless, if youre looking to get a fix of a state's local flavor and legend, WEIRD OREGON is never a bad travel buddy.

Definitely a very fun read! Some sensationalism… Making things that seem absolutely normal to us Oregonians seem quite odd for the greater public, but perhaps my perspective is skewed. Regardless, I totally enjoyed this book.

Is this a tour book or a sit down and read book? I thought there might be a map of such places to visit like a tour/travel book would have, but no, sit down and read then map out your own adventure. You have to dig in to even find an address.

Some really good sections! Otherwise seems to be obsessed with ghosts, haunted places, places that might be haunted, places that thought about being haunted, and places that applied to be haunted but was rejected.

An entertaining book that lets the reader in on the perculiararities of Oregon. Having recently moved here, it's a nice introduction to local lore. The book covers local legends, ancient mysteries, fabled people and places, beasts, strange properties, roadside oddities, haunted places, cemetaries. Yes, we have our own sitings of Bigfoot and UFOs (even here in Eagle Point). A book you browse through, a coffee table book.

I not only enjoyed the stories in this book, well most of them anyway. :) I also loved that it gave me ideas for day trips, vacations, and weekends away to visit some of these places. It had some fun stuff to visit and I'd love to get photos of. Can't wait to go back through the book and bookmarked the places I want to visit. Love these weird books.
