Miss Bindergarten and her class have had a great year in kindergarten! They have gone on a field trip, marked the 100th day, created a circus, and even survived a wild day. But now the school year is over, and it’s time to remember, to celebrate, and for Miss Bindergarten to say,"Goodbye, kindergarten. It’s been a special year." The bestselling Miss Bindergarten series comes to a sweet and jubilant conclusion by honoring an important the last day of kindergarten. Filled with last-day classroom celebration ideas, it’s also a perfect gift to commemorate graduation and moving-up ceremonies!
Another charming book in the Miss Bindergarten series. Today is the last day of kindergarten and the class is getting ready to celebrate. They bring gifts, clean out the Lost & Found, put things away, and then put on their bathing suits and go under the sprinkler and have a picnic. They sign a memory book, reminisce, and accept Miss Bindergarten's good-bye gifts wishing them good luck. As with the other books in the series, a range of students and a range of emotion are portrayed in the colorful illustrations.
Not a Bug favorite. The story is about saying goodbye on the last day of kindergarten—surprise! There are 26 children in the class, each a different animal for every letter in the alphabet.
It wasn't as good as some of the others in the series. I found some rhymes a bit more awkward and forced. But it does show a class getting ready to say goodbye at the end of the year and it goes through the alphabet like the other books in the series so I could definitely see it being a good end of year read aloud.
Miss Bindergarten Celebrates the Last Day of Kindergarten is a great book to read with kindergarteners on their last day of school. It tells the story of a teacher named Miss Bindergarten and her class and the great year they had in kindergarten. They reminisce about all of the things they have accomplished during the year such as field trips, a classroom circus, the holidays etc. However, the school year is over so they have to celebrate and say good bye to one another.
I would use this story as my last read aloud during the end of the school year in a kindergarten class. I would begin the year with using Miss Bindergarten Goes to Kindergarten to introduce the many wonderful activities that will occur during the year and draw parallels to this book. Many students will remember activities described in Miss Bindergarten Goes to Kindergarten and how they are repeated in Miss Bindergarten Celebrates the Last Day of Kindergarten. For example, the book about the beginning of the school year illustrates how the teacher sets up her classroom for the first day of school while the second book shows the same teacher taking everything down in the second book. This book is a great way for students to reflect upon their many accomplishment and milestones in their kindergarten year. The classroom teacher could create a list as students list their many accomplishments. Also, the book talks about each student being special and having a moving up ceremony. This would be the perfect opportunity for the teacher to have a moving up ceremony where each student receives a medal or award for being a star in kindergarten.
This book is a great way to remember all the wonderful milestones and achievements in kindergarten and to point out all the growth and progress that the students have made during the year. Also, the rhyming words used by the author are a great way to see if students have begun to grasp the sounds that words make and how they can be alike and different.
Genre: Alphabet Book Awards: N/A Audience: Kindergarten
A. This book fits into its specific category of being an Alphabet book because it is composed of the letters from A-Z and has a certain activity/word that correlates with that letter. B. I feel that color was a pivotal visual element in this book because the illustrator used such a wide range of colors and I feel as if this helped depict the many different aspects of kindergarten life and how many colors are involved at this young age. The use of color contributed to the story because the last day of kindergarten is so exciting and with multiple colors adds excitement and makes the story come to life for these young readers. C. I would use this book as a class read aloud, preferably on the last day of kindergarten because its a cute and fun read that still has a good story and sentimental meaning to it.
This book wasn't one of my favorites, but I did appreciate the book. The book used made up words such as Bindergarten which can be great for students who are in the blending sounds stage of phonological awareness. Also the book goes through the Alphabet with names and items. For example, Amy's Apple and James' Jumprope. Although this is an older book, I think that children will enjoy it.
In a classroom I would use this book to help with phonological awareness. When children get to the stage of blending. In literacy, I learned that having children create their own made up words, it helps them learn phonics in a new way.
Miss Bindergarten and her class have had a great year in kindergarten! But now the school year is over, and it’s time to remember, to celebrate, and for Miss Bindergarten to say,"Goodbye, kindergarten. It’s been a special year."
I just had to read this to all the Kindergarteners this last week of library as they prepare to be first graders. It was a fun picture book in the same ABC format as the others. Take time to study the pictures as there are a lot of things happening that the kids will enjoy looking at. Not a real thrilling read aloud for me, but the kids liked following along with the alphabet.
This is a great book for children to read because it teaches children their ABC's in a new unique way. Instead of using the animals to learn their ABC's they used the animals names to teach the ABC's. This book is also a good way for children to learn animal types, like zebra, dog, and monkey. The illustrations are also very well done with a lot of detail, which helps kids distinguish different things and animals. Also with each character name there is a sentence that describes what each character is doing, which gives the book more life. So, I think that this is a good book to help kids learn the alphabet and names.
A bittersweet moment as I'm finishing my year in books for 2020, a year that was challenging yet still full of promise and adventure, thru a certain perspective. It's the last day of kindergarten for Ms Bindergarten and her animal baby group, so everyone pitches in while the clever rhyme scheme goes thru the ABCs for the little kindergartners in your life. Their school year was prob'ly as fun and exciting as....well.... mine and some others. I feel instead of dreading life and the future, we embrace it by reading good stuff like this. We still win, even in 2020. Now THAT is "class"! 4 stars Mrs B is the place to B!
So I have read other books in this series and just like the other books this is an alphabet book. Which is perfect for a last day of Kindergarten. The illustrations in this book are colorful and are really well done. The words in this book are cute but there is not much of a story-line. My son really did enjoy this book but more at looking at the pictures. I recommend checking this book out for your kids last day of kindergarten.
This book was really cute. A repetitive book for young learners. Mrs. Bindergarten has completed another year of Kindergarten. Each one of her students, starting with the first letter of the alphabet, ending with the last has something to say about the year. It has consistency for little ones. By the first few pages my son was predicting what was going to be said. Copyright 2008
Perfect book for the last day of Kindergarten or any lower grades. Like all the "Miss Bindergarten" books, this book helps with letter recognition, and the importance of the students` names in the class.
This was a really cute story to read! My son (who will be moving on to the first grade this coming school year) really was interested in what happened in the story. I hope his last day of kindergarten goes this well!
A sentimental ode to all good things that come to an end. Miss Bindergarten Celebrates the Last Day of Kindergarten is sure to be a hit with the little ones as a special year of learning culminates with memories, friendships, and fond farewells.
Very cute book! Each page has a unique illustration, and each sentence starts with a new letter of the alphabet. There is also lots of rhyming, which could help a lot of kids with fluency and pronunciation. The book has good representation and shows everyone in the class working together.
This book is cute and would be good for the last day of kindergarten. It goes through the alphabet to give each child a name and that is good to work on the alphabet with younger kids.
This is a really fun book for students to get excited for summer! It is fun for students to compare their year to Miss Bindergarten's and relate themselves to other classrooms.
I read this during my last guidance class of the year. It was a cute way to still incorporate Lang arts items, and remember about the children's fav parts of kindergarten!
I enjoyed this book because I like the last day of school. I also enjoyed this book because Miss Bindergarten was celebrating the last day of Kindergarten.
This is the second book of the Miss Bindergarten series that I have read (the first one I read was Miss Bindergarten Gets Ready for Kindergarten, which is excellent). This book is inferior in every way to Miss Bindergarten Grts Ready for Kindergarten. The illustrations are of a much lower quality, and the rhyming is not as clever. I was thoroughly disappointed.

An adorable story for little kids!! This brought me back to my own kindergarten graduation and all the fun activities we did. I loved the different activities described in this books and I'm sure kids will enjoy this story as much as I did.
