Hard to rave about a textbook, really. But I love Gardner's. Always have.

Read for my History and Appreciation of Art II class. I am interested in Art, so whatever I learned from this book I will remember. If you love to read about Art trends and evolution of the modern art and architecture, this is the right book for you. With me being an architect major it helps me some even though this was an elective course/book for my culinary arts major.

I was suppose to read the book for a class and because I could not afford to buy it, I rented it. In the time I had it, I found it to be informative and easy to read. Usually, I do not enjoy reading for my classes because the writing is usually difficult for me to read, but I did not mind this one. The chapters are broken up by periods and I particularly enjoyed the chapters that touched up on Greek and Roman art. The writing gives you just enough information where you have learned something, but you don't feel overwhelmed. I wouldn't sit down and read this book for casual entertainment, but if you need a quick refresher in art history then I definitely suggest this book!
