Pretty similar to his other books, although sometimes you get the feeling that he is just looking to fill some space with a few of his tips. Still amusing, however, and probably of more interest to the non-psychologist. My favorite tip was probably the "nine-foot rule" where he suggests putting a visible receptacle (clothes, trash, etc.) within 9 feet of a child in the room in order to ensure compliance of putting things where they belong. Apparently this is the same rule amusement parks use to ensure the same kind of compliance for both kids and adults.

Interesting handbook to improve parents quality of life. Simplistic for the parent that needs only know what's necessary once they have children, but can also be helpful for those not with children as well.

Very good reminders of important parenting tips and hacks. These were common sense tips to me, but good reminders nonetheless. I liked the writing style, format, and the clever play on words in “cheap physiological tricks.”

Had this book not been a gift, I might not have read it since I was turned off by the title. I'm not exactly looking for cheap ways to trick my offspring! But, the psychology major in me couldn't pass it up. I found I agreed with the majority of the suggestions given by the author. My plan is to keep this book handy and re-read it every year or so to refresh my memory.
