An irreverent chronological history and analysis of THE terrorist group that bombed and shot their way through the last three decades of Western capitalism. From student radicalism to Stammheim to Euro-terrorism, this is a concise history, which charts the rise and rise of the armed guerrilla group that launched a thousand T-shirts. Profusely illustrated throughout, with over thirty photographs. "We talked about Vietnam and then we moved onto other things..."—Hans Joachim Klein
This was my favorite book in high school. It's a short, trashy chronological account of post-war German terrorism. Why was this my favorite book in high school? That's a good question.
I reread it on a whim, and it's just as trashy as I remembered. It's not hard to read between the lines to see how the left wing terrorist groups were coordinated by various intelligence agencies (e.g. East German).
This book tells the story of West Germany's Red Army Faction in a jaunty manner. Some people might be a bit annoyed by how relatively sympathetic to its subject the book is, but as a short introduction to the subject it cannot be beaten.
A point by point recount of the rise and fall of the red army faction. The book just relays the facts on a tyimeline stretching from the late 60s to the early 90s.
Timeline of facts about the rise and fall of taste Red Army, a ultra left terrorist organization. A well written one, somewhat dry and short but not boring.
